“Just getting out of the house on a sunny Tuesday morn and ol' Blackie, my p'up truck took me to Mason. So I inspected the refurbished Court House and had a light lunch at the Square Dish. The smiling and friendly waitress recommended the Chicken and Dumpling as it was the days special. And was it ever! A square bowl of steaming tender shredded chicken breast, swimming in a scrumptious pool of gravy amongst the light delicious team of dumplings. A delightful and pretty young lady in an apron, I assumed she was the proprietor, inquired about my meal and I was at a loss for praise high enough for the delicious square bowl before me. So I praised with a wimpy "delicious".I will be back soon to try other "today special" because this one was superior!“
“was passing thru Mason at lunchtime today & stopped at Rico's. I had never been here before, just wish we lived closer- - I'd quickly become a regular!! this is a clean, friendly restaurant; their food is excellent. I got their Piccadilly Gorditas, a friend had their Green Chicken Enchiladas, another friend got a Beef Fajita Chimichanga. Their complimentary chips & salsa are good. They have a verde salsa that's fiery hot & delicious. Our waiter was busy, but prompt & very attentive. Be sure to order a couple of their mouthwatering, very tasty handmade flour tortillas.“
