No checkbacks and after sitting 20 minutes after eating, we had to call her to get a check. 10 minutes after getting the check we had to call her again so she would pick up payment. “Just tried this place for the first time today. Wow, is all that comes to mind. I hate it took me this long to find out about this place. Really great craft beer. I would suggest the Dunkel. My wife had a mimosa she said was good. The server was great, great descriptions and the food did not disappoint at all. The beer dip was phenomenal. Also the Reuben.. Soo good! Very hard to find a good Reuben anymore these days but this place nailed it. The presentation and layers of the sandwich were unreal. I showed my buddy how perfect the sandwich looked and my wife caught me showing him and made fun of me later for it haha. The only issue I had at all was I forgot to take a picture of the sandwich.. so sad. It looked like something out of a professional food photography session. Can’t wait to go again. Hopefully this coming Saturday for live music and I won’t forget the Reuben pic this time. Check it out!”

“When we decided to drive our old vehicles into Castroville, TX, this was not our actual stop. We found this place by accident. The atmosphere has a mixture of country, rock, and cuisine. The food is simple but not simple. Although it's not a place you'd expect to eat dinner, the food was very filling. Loved the music the vibe, the cleanliness, and the service of this place. I plan on stopping by next time when they have live music. This place is a must try and as always you make your own judgment as for me I'll be back for sure.”

“Stopped and got 2 Sandwich plates to go. Got them home and was so pleased. The sandwich was heaped with sliced brisket. The meat was moist and tender. The potato salad was very good. They didn't forget a single thing. We had plastic ware, napkins, BBQ sauce, pickles and onions. Kudo's to Heavy 's. The price was good also. Less than $28.00 for 2.”

Had their two meat plate (brisket and sausage). “When I was a young kid, my parents took me to a place called Gino's pizza, every week on Friday. The pizza was so good, like, I've never tasted anything as good as them since.Until Pepe's pizza.You can smell the fresh ingredients walking in. The pizza dough smell is so divine. I knew by the smell alone I was not going to be disappointed. But it was better than that, the pizza brought back all my childhood memories of eating with my parents.The owners were extremely friendly and we will be returning time and time again. And their prices are really reasonable for comparable chain brands in the area, but you get such better quality pizza, you should just go with Pepe's.So if you are in the Hondo area, stop by Pepe's.”

“The food was wonderful, delicious and fresh. The lasagna was so flavorful. Their pork schnitzel was so tender. The restaurant is beautiful and so relaxing. They have a patio/ bar restaurant that is nice and inviting with music as well. The service was great. The ladies who served us were so sweet. Can’t wait to go back, theres also plenty of parking and if you wanted to take a walk there is a historic walking path in the streets behind the restaurant.”

“Nice little local spot! Ambience is just okay....a little Italian with some Texan thrown in. Service ...good! Seated quickly and our drinks were kept full! Food...good, nothing great, but good! Pizza is good, crispy crust with ample toppings. Pasta is pretty good. Garlic bread is good, but ask for the GOB (garlic, oil, basil) to dip! Really good! All in all, good for a small town.”

“Best Bakery in town. All the breads, cookies, and donuts are yummy. Go early to get their full range of options, but even if you go later in the day, they still have a good amount left. Day old bread is great to buy too. My go to are the cake donuts, cookies (any they're all delicious) and cream puffs.”

“I went here for the first time and tried their chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The chicken fried steak would have been much better if it was thicker but the potatoes and asparagus were really good. The service was outstanding! One more thing.... You must order the Irish nachos. They aren't made with chips like regular nachos instead they are made with waffle potato fries, pulled pork, melted cheese and barbecue sauce. I was so anxious to dig in I totally forgot to take a picture. Sorry about that, maybe next time. And for dessert try their bread pudding. Yum yum! So if you're looking for that small town mom-and-pop country restaurant, this is definitely a place you need to try. Yes, I will be back.”
