I ordered the steak tips with eggs and swapped the hash browns for potatoes—everything was flavorful and satisfying. My son was thrilled that they had his favorite BBQ sauce, and he happily devoured both his kids’ meal (chicken strips and a fruit cup) and most of my pancakes! His only complaint? He wished there were more chicken strips—they were that good.

The sandwiches were bigger when they first opened and now they are half the size (feels like starpucks for the price.) (FYI check out starpucks thing where they charged first responders $250 for two cases of water at 9/11 and it took national attention before corporate responded. That is one of many reasons why I will not go there.)

“My favorite bbq in Midland. As far as standard bbq goes it’s hard to beat the half acre, they do things the right way.
Sausage has a good snap and flavor without being overly greasy. Brisket is always moist and very tender with a nice crust. Beef ribs and pork ribs also serve as another great option and fall right off the bone.
For sides I usually stick with their okra or green chile mac if it’s available, but I have no complaints over any of their sides.
Overall, they don’t do anything crazy or super inventive, they just make good bbq.”

Talking to some regulars there, it seems to be a normal thing to expect.”

“We recently hosted a baby shower at Cafe at the Gardens (Aldridge Gardens) and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! I was hosting the event for a friend, and the entire team went above and beyond to make the day so special. Alisha, the manager, was absolutely amazing—so kind, professional, and helpful throughout the whole planning process. Her assistant manager (I feel terrible for forgetting his name!) was also fantastic. They helped by having the tables already set up, provided linens for all the tables, and made sure we had everything we needed for our group of about 50–60 guests. They helped me choose a great menu that worked perfectly for our group. The food was the perfect amount, everything tasted great, and they had the full staff available to serve drinks and assist wherever needed. Even clean-up was a breeze—they took care of all the trash, which was a huge relief! The setting was beautiful, the staff was wonderful, and the price was incredibly reasonable. We’re so grateful for such a posh and stress-free experience. Highly recommend for any special event!”

I spent a few hours here, drinking and eating Indian food from the place next door and observing. The two co-managers treat this establishment like their child. They know many of the patrons by name. People fly in, come here for a drink on their way to other places, and ... catch up with each other. This is the kind of bar I'd want to drink at every Friday night, if I were to go drinking on Friday nights, as opposed to a random Wednesday. They have an open mic, Friday night bands and karaoke apparently (I wasn't there for this, its Wednesday), but the absolute home feeling of this place is memorable. I'll be back.”

Sadie was an angel! She remembered me and asked me, “How have you been?” “How is your brother?” She went exponentially above and beyond what is expected! If you're ordering from the sea, you're in for a treat. The **Seafood Enchiladas** and **Salmon Asado** both deliver exceptional flavor. The seafood is expertly seasoned, and beautifully prepared.
**The Catch:**
Keep an eye on the portion sizes—they lean on the smaller side, so you might not leave stuffed if you're looking for a heavy meal.
Additionally, you can safely skip getting excited about the standard sides; both the **beans and rice** are decidedly mediocre and lack the punch of the main events. Come for the high-quality fish and coastal flavors, but don't expect the side dishes to carry their weight.”

It is also REALLY refreshing to come into a natural foods store and not be inundated by naive leftist opinions. The waitress I had assisting me took the time to explain the two options they have. One is the all you can eat from a paper menu and the second you can also order individual items from the book menu.
Price range is similar to any other Asian restaurant in town. 15 and up depending on the item you choose.
Quality of food was very fresh for sashimi. The tools are basically made in house. Rice is soft. Miso soup was at a great hot temperature.

“Very nice facility, my baby cousin loves this location, between the playground, little trampolines, and games he stays very occupied and happy! Although I was a little confused when they didn’t check us in (no safety precautions by the door!!!!!) and the bathrooms could have used a clean but nothing terrible. The staff could definitely benefit from a smile on their faces…”

“Ate there during the rain , chicken fried steak most tender we ever had, baked potatoes were loaded and hot. Patrons were so friendly and everyone smiling. When we left it was pouring rain and a customer insisted he get our car and pull into the alley which was a little closer while our waiter appeared with a very large umbrella and walked us to our car. Can that kind of food and service be beat? Nope.”
