“My favorite bbq in Midland. As far as standard bbq goes it’s hard to beat the half acre, they do things the right way.
Sausage has a good snap and flavor without being overly greasy. Brisket is always moist and very tender with a nice crust. Beef ribs and pork ribs also serve as another great option and fall right off the bone.
For sides I usually stick with their okra or green chile mac if it’s available, but I have no complaints over any of their sides.
Overall, they don’t do anything crazy or super inventive, they just make good bbq.”

“We recently hosted a baby shower at Cafe at the Gardens (Aldridge Gardens) and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! I was hosting the event for a friend, and the entire team went above and beyond to make the day so special. Alisha, the manager, was absolutely amazing—so kind, professional, and helpful throughout the whole planning process. Her assistant manager (I feel terrible for forgetting his name!) was also fantastic. They helped by having the tables already set up, provided linens for all the tables, and made sure we had everything we needed for our group of about 50–60 guests. They helped me choose a great menu that worked perfectly for our group. The food was the perfect amount, everything tasted great, and they had the full staff available to serve drinks and assist wherever needed. Even clean-up was a breeze—they took care of all the trash, which was a huge relief! The setting was beautiful, the staff was wonderful, and the price was incredibly reasonable. We’re so grateful for such a posh and stress-free experience. Highly recommend for any special event!”

“Hot Shots is definitely a dive bar, but if you’re like me, that’s what you are looking for sometimes. They got a few pool tables and it’s a smoking environment. Like I said, pure dive bar. If you’re a smoker, you’ll probably enjoy this bar. If not, expect to leave smelling like an ash tray. The only reason I took a star off is because the service there is super slow. Talking to some regulars there, it seems to be a normal thing to expect.”

I spent a few hours here, drinking and eating Indian food from the place next door and observing. The two co-managers treat this establishment like their child. They know many of the patrons by name. People fly in, come here for a drink on their way to other places, and ... catch up with each other. This is the kind of bar I'd want to drink at every Friday night, if I were to go drinking on Friday nights, as opposed to a random Wednesday. They have an open mic, Friday night bands and karaoke apparently (I wasn't there for this, its Wednesday), but the absolute home feeling of this place is memorable. I'll be back.”

The managers and other people were equally as awesome, and one of them gave me a card to bring in next time for a free entree, which a manager would sign, then I could bring in another time, for another free entree. They all thanked us for visiting, with enthusiasm and smiles! Today was my 2nd time here, and I brought my wife. She was impressed. Along with our entrees, we shared a Parmesan Truffle Fries appetizer, and it was huge - it came in a large mixing bowl! Carter was our cashier, and he was awesome as usual, as well as the manager, Tara! He went by each table, including ours, and asked how everything was- he’s perfect to move up to being a manager. Sadie was an angel! She remembered me and asked me, “How have you been?” “How is your brother?” She went exponentially above and beyond what is expected! Many times, she checked on us, and asked how everything was, with a heartfelt smile, enthusiasm and gratitude! She got me to go containers, and offered to fill up my to go cup! She would be perfect as a manager! Tara came by, asked how everything was, our names, and conversed with us about this store, and about people we knew from other restaurants. It’s a small world! We told her how awesome everyone was, especially Carter and Sadie!”

It is also REALLY refreshing to come into a natural foods store and not be inundated by naive leftist opinions. Just good, solid, common sense folks, who are as nice and helpful as they could possibly be. “We’ve really enjoyed eating at Sapporo’s over the years. The sushi is fantastic, and the food quality has always been consistently good in our experience. My favorites are the Green Dragon Roll and the Green Forest Roll. My wife and kids love the Midland Roll and the chicken fried rice. We’ve both dined in and ordered takeout. The service when dining in can be a little slow at times, but the food has always been worth the wait. One thing that really stood out today was a small act of kindness. When I picked up our order, they included a complimentary Sprite for my kids because it was so hot outside. I never asked for it, but it absolutely made my kids’ day. It’s those thoughtful little gestures that leave a lasting impression. If you’re looking for consistently good sushi and a restaurant that genuinely cares about its customers, Sapporo’s is definitely worth a visit.”

“Very nice facility, my baby cousin loves this location, between the playground, little trampolines, and games he stays very occupied and happy! Although I was a little confused when they didn’t check us in (no safety precautions by the door!!!!!) and the bathrooms could have used a clean but nothing terrible. The staff could definitely benefit from a smile on their faces…”

“I enjoy coming to double daves. the kitchen could be faster for sure. Tall white guy with glasses is about the only one that works with any kind of speed. The front people are always so welcoming. We come here about every other week different times. I think the guy with long hair and another guy I think there names rhyme...chick with glasses always super friendly and remembers us and chops it up with my kiddos. Wish they would get beer back specially football season. “Ate there during the rain , chicken fried steak most tender we ever had, baked potatoes were loaded and hot. Patrons were so friendly and everyone smiling. When we left it was pouring rain and a customer insisted he get our car and pull into the alley which was a little closer while our waiter appeared with a very large umbrella and walked us to our car. Can that kind of food and service be beat? Nope.”
