1st City Cafe Reviews
1st city cafe is one of our go-tos in Nacogdoches when we treat ourselves to a meal out. There are some really excellent dishes like the Gruene Enchiladas, and the bread pudding is absolutely delicious. My only complaint food-wise is that it's a little on the heavy side. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that, but sometimes not. I would like to see them continue to innovate with some healthier options- more varied salads, fish, etc. (The coffee is ok. 1st City Cafe, nestled inside the historic Hotel Fredonia, is a charming mid-century cafe with a classic 1950s decor and vibe. The restaurant serves up delicious dishes, including the best chicken fried steak, shrimp with grits, and cheese curds with a tasty sauce. The Napa salad with grilled chicken is another favorite, and the bread pudding is a must-try. The cafe and hotel are set in the oldest town in Texas, Nacogdoches, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cafe has a bright, airy interior with views of the hotel pool area, and the pleasant decor provides a good setting for lunch. The service is impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff, and the food is always fresh and tasty. It's a great spot for a casual date, a professional lunch, or a weekend getaway.
