Steve is not just a baker—he’s a baking legend here in New Braunfels, Texas. His sourdough is beyond amazing, but that’s just the beginning. The blueberry scones? Absolutely to die for—light, flavorful, and perfectly baked. And those sausage-stuffed rolls (kolaches, I finally remembered the name!) are warm, savory perfection.

But what truly sets Steve apart is the heart he puts into everything. When I was preparing a post-wedding brunch for my son, Steve made fresh bagels on his day off—just for us. Then, he personally delivered them so they’d be hot and fresh for the big day. Who does that?! Steve does.

From start to finish, everything was effortless—ordering, payment, and the incredible service. Steve went above and beyond in every way.

“We hired Danielle to do our wedding cake and I can’t believe how amazing it turned out!! My now husband is not a dessert guy and we were struggling to find a flavor he thought he would enjoy. We did a tasting with Danielle and he DEVOURED all 4 flavors in one sitting. Not only was the cake the best freaking carrot cake we have ever had, it was also beautiful. “We used 2tarts for our wedding desserts and it was amazing. They were not only delicious, they made our cake tasting a special event. We worked with Erin, and she was so charming. Everyone truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and the tasting is a precious memory for me now. The actual cake was beautifully done, on-time, and tasted delicious. We had nothing but positive feedback from our guests, and many people even took selfies with the dessert table! It looked that good. Me and my husband (woo!) had a slice of the blackberry cake which was possibly the best cake I've ever had, but our "anniversary" layer, which we ate the next day, was pistachio, and that was incredibly delicious. We got a four-tier cake with different flavored layers, and individual apple pies and slices of gluten-free, vegan cake. The options were so great we almost didn't know what to pick, but we were so happy with the end result! If you are in the area and looking for your wedding cake and desserts, 2tarts is the right answer!“

“We visited Naegelin's today while we were in New Braunfels. I used to live in NB (1959 to 1990) and grew up on their pastries. My brother was a baker their in 1960 and 1961, so there was always Naegelin's pastries to eat. Bear Claws were my absolute favorite. After 30 years, I couldn't wait! I ordered Bear Claws and 2 strudles, apple and cherry. I should have waited! The strudel was pretty good. the Bear Claws were very very disappointing. they lacked flavor and filling. The pastery used to be light and flakey. Not any longer, more like flat and tough. I hate to use the word "cardboard", but that kinda fits. Go for the Strudel, forget the Bear Claws. Childhood memories shattered again.“
