“If you’re looking for incredible sushi, Basil Cafe is a must-visit. The sushi here is absolutely delicious—fresh, beautifully prepared, and consistently high quality every time we go.
The service always goes above and beyond. On our very first visit, our waitress took the time to walk us through the menu and point out some fan favorites, which made it so much easier to decide what to order. That level of attentiveness really set the tone for a great experience, and the staff has been just as welcoming on every visit since.
The ambience is top notch—relaxing, comfortable, and perfect for a casual dinner or a nice night out. The restaurant is also exceptionally clean, which is exactly what you want when dining somewhere that serves food.
Between the fresh ingredients, great presentation, generous portions, and outstanding service, Basil Cafe has quickly become one of our favorite sushi spots. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re craving great sushi and a wonderful dining experience. 🍣“

“Promised to come back for another meal since the first visit ended in being disappointed due to limpy fries and a dry burger. So 2nd visit was guarded. Ordering here is a pain. Everyone wants something different so it slows the ordering process to a snail crawl. Ordered a Monster Burger. Dry. Fries are not crisp at all, they are as limp as before. What's with limp fries? Meat is tasteless. The need to go to Culver's to compare what a burger should taste like. My wife had a Hotdogs. It was very good but again limp fries. On a scale of 5 and 5 bring superb..we would rate our meal as a 2 and it's our last visit. I will stick with Culver's and Boots Burgers for burgers.“

“When I say these are real, authentic, handmade bagels, I am not kidding. They are hands down the best bagels I’ve ever had, and trust me—I’ve tried a lot of places, especially around Dallas (not naming any names 😉). They’re fresh, flavorful, and exactly what a true bagel should be. The cream cheese is fresh and delicious, and now that they’re making sandwiches too, it just keeps getting better. They also recently had a beautiful mural painted inside by a local artist, and it’s absolutely a must-see when you visit. If you’ve never had a real, fresh bagel before, you need to try the Bagel Lady. And even if you have—you still need to go. The owner is just as sweet as she can be and incredibly supportive of the community. We are lucky to have the Bagel Lady in Rockwall“

“Received a gift card for the holidays, so I decided to treat my lady and myself to a nice dinner. We were sat immediately and served by the most friendly and kind server I’ve seen in a long time. She had a great attitude and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that she had just finished her training and this was her first solo shift. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. If you haven’t tried the Chicken Tortelloni Alfredo it is amazing. Great experience and will be back!“

“A friend took us here for dinner. Service was excellent. We shared Pineapple Fried Rice, Basil Fried Rice, Pad Kee Mao, & the chicken Wing appetizer with the sweet garlic sauce. It was our first time to dine here. The restaurant has a new owner and she was quite friendly and helpful. We will visit again.“

“Book Club is the spot you bring your out-of-town friends to try. Awesome vibes, great breakfast food, and nestled right in the heart of Downtown Rockwall.
Make sure you get a reservation if you’re going on the weekend! And, make sure you get some biscuits and gravy.“

“First visit but won’t be the last. We were in the area and stopped in for ramen based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. Our food was delicious and our waiter (Nate) was outstanding - very attentive. The prices were very reasonable. Looking forward to coming back next time we are in Rockwall.“

“You can taste the love in the food. The atmosphere is relaxing, open and clean. It’s family friendly and the portions are perfect🙌🏽. “My family took me there for Father’s Day and it was great , we had fish, shrimp, gator, calamari, fries and hush puppies, plus cold beer . And all was great and so was our server, plus we had plenty of ketchup !“

“Love this place, best burritos around! A lot of to go orders. We love the dine in experience here better though for more fresh food taste--if you like it to go, it is even better in person right then.
Often a little chilly inside during the winter, be prepared for that. Sometimes temperatures can fluctuate during hot summer too. Not a huge issue though either way and has never stopped us.“

“I am a frequent flyer at this location. They are always so very warm and accommodating and you can tell the staff is trained and led very well. I am always very happy with my pizza (typically order for pick up) and the friendly service. They keep me coming back!“

“tried to call in and order for pizza tonight and had a lot of trouble with my order taker come to find out they were in a call center not even the local store. they put me on hold and then hung up on me my second attempt the person was not any better could not understand them and they could not get my order right. so I called a third time it was told to call back in 3 minutes and she tried to hang up on me and then she would not give me a supervisor to speak with so I decided to drive to the local store. I was very frustrated and ready to tell them that I was not ever going to eat a Pizza hut pizza again but the manager that was on duty named Christy was super helpful and very nice. she definitely won my business back with her hospitality I will not be calling in anymore food but I will definitely be going back to my local Pizza hut in Rockwall on ridge road.“
