Waited about 30 minutes to get up the elevator for two shots that rounded off about $40 after tip.
The view from the bar isn't that great, as you do not get a full 360 view and the bar is elevated away from the windows. Would have had a better go with the observation deck and getting a drink elsewhere.

Try the chocolate and bourbon! Great vibe and atmosphere. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the service. The bartenders (and there were several) were too busy watching the Spurs game then to wait on their guests.
Went for happy hour, our first time in Texas. Service was sub par. Food was alright, drinks were alright, water was the worst we've ever had. Truly unfortunate. We didn't even drink the water and the server told us he brings his own water to work cuz it's so bad.

Bar 601, located high above downtown San Antonio in the iconic Tower of the Americas, offers stunning skyline views that enhance the experience, especially during happy hour. The atmosphere is lively and upscale yet relaxed, making it a great spot for cocktails or a full meal. The menu has its hits and misses, with standouts like firecracker shrimp, lettuce wraps, sliders, and the highly recommended prime rib, which is presented beautifully by Chef Tony.
Guests have praised the refreshing, beautifully crafted tropical cocktails topped with fresh ingredients, and the delicious Fish Tacos, featuring perfectly seasoned blackened fish and creamy drizzles. The staff is warm and welcoming, with attentive service noted by visitors, including standout waiter Preston.
Bar 601 is an ideal choice for date nights, special occasions, or anyone visiting the Tower. While there may be wait times, the overall experience, including decadent cocktails like the espresso martini soufflé, makes it well worth the visit.
