“Maria's was the 5th spot we tried on our search for best breakfast tacos in SA. The bacon, egg, potato and cheese was really good especially with that hot sauce and its spicy kick. The bean and cheese, while also good wasn't as flavorful as beans I've had elsewhere. The carne guisada and cheese was the best taco for sure. It's a bit of nitpicking, but the meat wasn't quite as tender as compared to other spots and the tortillas overall were on the chewy side. That being said, I really enjoyed this spot and would definitely return for more breakfast tacos as well as to try all the other options on their menu. 4.2 out of 5“

“Great eatery!! Waitress continued to check on us, made sure our coffee's and waters were ful or if we needed anything else.
Food was delicious/ well seasoned!
I had the steak and eggs, for as thin as the skirt steak was, they still did it a medium rare... beans/potatoes were good served with homemade flour and corn tortillas... AMAZING!
I also had the chicken on a stick (a Fiesta fave) delicious and tender, it didn't disappoint.
Hubbs had the chilequilles with a side of barbacoa. His fave was the barbacoa, in a corn tortilla with the beans and potatoes. Chilequilles was ok.
Over all a great little spot! Gets busy around 10am so plan accordingly“

He was super attentive without hovering, and he made sure my wife and kids were completely taken care of. “My grandparents owned several businesses in the area and as a child we would go there for lunch. I visited the restaurant last Wednesday for the first time in over 60 years. The food and service were excellent and authentic. I visited with several staff members to share my story and found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. “Went to the one on bandera the food is good, But the service we received today was not a good one, the young lady that took are order was just a very unhappy person. They were not busy at all it was just me and my daughter. She was rude to my 8 yr old that wanted to order mini taco 🌮 for herself , so I told what she had to say and wrote it down so she can read it is she forgets (😁). The young man the is usually their is so friendly and gives very good customer service . He needs to train the young lady that was their today and show her how to be a nice human 😉“

“This place is a hole on the wall but it is very good. They run lunch specials and the give u a pan dulce with your food. The tortillas are handmade both flour and corn. You order at the register and they have chips and all kinds of different salsas. The sad part for me is the Pepsi products, we would go more often if they carry Coke products. “I've only had the breakfast tacos but boy they were amazing. We accidentally went 5 minutes before breakfast was over but the staff was more than happy to get us some tacos. We went back a couple of days later, on time, and ordered more tacos. They were large and stuffed.“

“I grew up in San Antonio. La Fonda was my favorite restaurant as a child. Back then there were multiple locations around the city. Now there are only two, Alamo Heights, and this one which is in Monte Vista. The food is heavenly. The atmosphere is sublime. Service: exceptional. If you don’t eat TexMex anywhere else while in town you should make time for a late afternoon lunch at La Fonda on Main. It’s in a league of its own. ❤️“

“This place saved the day! We had planned to meet some of our work family for dinner for my husband's birthday!! The first party my husband has had in over 10yrs!

I called somewhere else and asked if they could seat a party of 15 they told us no problem until we got there and they wanted to put us in 2 back to back booths and 1 across. Ummm no. So in a quick last minute scurry I found this Chili's 4mins away! I called hoping but doubting they could help. The gentleman who answered said he would see what they could do and to give him a min. He quickly came back and said they could help. We got the directions to those who had not arrived at the other evil place and off we went.
When we got there our table was already set up and our server was super sweet. We had the best time and my hubby was very happy 😊

“4 out of 5 stars this time. They weren't super busy today so service should've been spot on. Our wait person was very polite, but once the food arrived, we asked for salt and pepper, as well as tortillas. The salt and pepper didn't arrive until we were done eating and the tortillas never arrived. However, the food was good and the restaurant was clean.

They didn't charge us for the requested tortillas, so I assume the wait person simply got distracted and forgot about them.
