“The tacos are amazing! I had to sit down and smoke a cigarette and collect my thoughts after I ate there. The best breakfast tacos I have ever eaten. The tortillas come out of the kitchen freshly made. Everything is homemade I always get the barbacoa I never stray. They have 3 different types of salsas to go with your tacos also. Family ran business to. There is a line always out the door. I put it up there with Brothers taco in downtown.“

“I live about an hour and a half away from here but any time we go shopping or are in the Houston area, we stop to eat here. The service is great and the food is better!

The prices are very fair for the quality and portions.

We have tried their tacos, birria tacos and the birria pizza. All of it was not just good, it was perfect. My family loves to stop and eat here and we usually end up buying food to bring home too.

The location is odd but it works! They have tables and a covered seating area so you can eat there or in your car or even at home. Whatever your heart desires but we always eat there and never have a problem.

For anyone who doesn’t speak English, don’t fret, they are bilingual so go get you some good Mexican food and fall in love with all of the flavors!“

“I went for their fajita marinated meat after seeing great reviews on a fb group, and after cooking it, it was perfect!
While there, I had a mini quesadilla which was very delicious so was their red salsa. I will definitely be back for a full plate of food.

“Went to El Palenque after a lapse in time of visiting. Found they were under new management. Orders Pollo Con Crema, Pablano, order of tortillas and one Margarita to go. Pollo Con Crema was very salty, the Stuffed Pablano was only 1, and never received the tortilla's after being asked if it was flour our corn, a few times. Got home with my bag, no tortillas. Order was just under $40.00. Very disappointed. Until they 'regulate' their menu, prices and service, I won't be going back for some time. One Pablano 'dinner' was $18.00. Come on now. Pollo Con Crema used to be my go to but not now. The chicken was good but all served on top of the refried beans. Was a soupy mess.“

“This place is LITERALLY my favorite little taco shop, especially their crispy tacos!! The Pastor is addicting!! I always get several things, as I literally can’t narrow it down any further because it’s all amazing lol. Ground beef and pastor crispy tacos with cheese, chicken floutas, ground beef tostada w cheese, and the chicken soup (if they have it), plus a Mexican coke (when in Rome). It seems to be a mother and son operation. It’s always delicious, but when the woman is cooking, it’s like someone’s una poquita abuelita back there making magic!!! 🤤 I highly recommend this place to everyone I know. It can be kinda loud, if there are ppl in there being loud (watching things on their phones, or using speaker phone ANNOYING). There’s an off putting smell when you first walk in, unfortunately (like their plumbing isn’t great), but you get used to it after about 5 min (not my favorite thing to report in a restaurant tbh, but the food is THAT GOOD! It doesn’t deter me). I have eaten here more times than I can count now! My only complaint is that on a rare occasion, they aren’t open during their regular posted hours, so call first to be sure. I drive 20 min or so to get there, so that can be a huge let down when you’re super excited about the most delicious tacos on this side of Louetta! Customer for life!!! Don’t get me wrong, when the male is cooking, it’s also delicious, but the woman seems to put a little extra love in everything she makes!“

“my boyfriend and i tried this place for the first time on a monday afternoon. ana, the greeter, is nice. we ordered and the food was out in less than 5 mins. i got regular chicken enchiladas and my boyfriend got beef fajitas. the food was hot, fresh, and tasted great. my ONLY wish is they’d use a little more seasoning on the meat. the rice and beans were perfect, in my opinion. our server was marvin and he was prompt and attentive. if you’re looking for a new mexican restaurant to try - this is the place.“

“Karl's is my favorite place for breakfast, but I'm rarely in the area anymore. I do make a trip out there when I can because the food is delicious and she always has a smile and very quick service. If you're in the area and craving good food, don't hesitate to stop by. You will not regret it.“

“My husband and I were the only ones during the dinner rush at 6:30 🥺 Even though they were empty, we were greeted with the biggest smile by the gentleman working the counter, turns out he was the owner. He handed us menus, explained a few things, then happily took our order.

I got 3 quesaibiria tacos, 3 chicken taco plate with refried beans, nachos supreme, elotes, a Mexican coke, a limonada aguas frescas, and an order of churros. I spent $70 plus tip.

Everything was sooo good. I can tell they make everything in house, the veggies were all freshly chopped, the Mexican rice was so soft and flavorful, the birria consume was perfect. The nachos supreme was loaded with toppings and the chips didn't get soggy. The elotes was okay (it wasn't the fresh, boiled corn im used to). The aguas frescas was incredible, it had the perfect amount of zest.

When he was telling me everything I ordered and showing me to make sure I knew I got what I ordered, he said horchata. I told him I'm sorry, I ordered a limonada aguas frescas. He was very apologetic and got me the aguas frescas at no charge. It kind of worked out, because I tried the horchata when I got home (which I normally don't like) and it was actually sooo good.

While everything was really good, our favorites and what we would recommend are the nachos and Mexican rice.

I spoke to the owner while he was handing us our food and asked him about his restaurant. He said he's been there 5 years, and has been really struggling lately. He said he misses his customers 🥺 I told him I would make a Facebook post (he didnt know who I am, so to him, it's just a regular Facebook post) to try to get him some customers. His face lit up and was very thankful, and asked asked for a Google review, to help bring business in.

There is plenty of comfortable seating, good music (at a good volume) the TV's weren't on but I'm sure they would turn them on if they had customers, you can call your order in, they're also on door dash and Uber eats. Please go give this struggling restaurant a try. They need our help.“

“Omg‼️ the fish Fortas is a must, I lovvvveee it, my favorite menu item. The breakfast is also great, I go here about 3 times a month. My favorite spot when I’m on break at work as well.

Parking: Parking is great it’s in a conscience store parking lot.“

The salsas both were flavorful.
The corn tortillas are authentic and just like in Mexico 🇲🇽
