“I cannot believe how hard everyone worked last night after the hurricane. Staying way after hours to make sure everyone got fed and had a place to be for a little while with power and air. We were so thankful that they were open let alone to stay late until every last person was fed!!!! They still had excellent service and the food was still amazing. We had someone come in from out of the country and where he was staying he had nothing and was so hungry.. we were so thankful to see they were open so we could get him something to eat. “We had our wedding reception dinner at Del Frisco’s in The Woodlands yesterday (5/20) with 26 of our closest family and friends, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was classy yet comfortable, and the service was top-tier. Our servers, Delaney and Christian, were incredible—Delaney brought the perfect touch of humor and kindness, and Christian was so polite and attentive. The bar staff made sure every drink was spot-on, and the kitchen knocked it out of the park with every single meal. Not one person in our party of 26 left unsatisfied. Special thanks to Gus, the GM, who helped us coordinate everything ahead of time and made sure all the details came together seamlessly. “We popped in tonight for a little bit of a midweek date night expecting the typical Perry's nicer dining experience, and originally planned on ordering the prime rib.

Wow was I wrong.

Apparently they added Beef Wellington to their menu a little while back. Me being the fat kid I am, I immediately began salivating.

Being a huge fan of a well prepared Welly, I've eaten them at more than a few dozen 5 star restaurants, many headed by big name chefs.

I can say hands down, this is the best damned Beef Wellington I've ever had.

The filet was a perfect medium rare, the mushroom chicken duxelle with a hint of horseradish was superior, but the absolute showstopper was the pastry. Light, fluffy, but crisp enough you hear the distinct crack with each slice.

As outstanding as my meal was, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the perfect service we received from our host, David Corzo.

He was very friendly, charming personality, engaging, and quite knowledgeable on the menu. I know these sound like basic skills for the service industry, but let me assure you, they are extremely rare today.

“Kirby’s steakhouse HH in the bar is the best! The service from Alison and others which in the past has also included Justin and always includes greetings from the kitchen…Clarence and staff are the absolute best at getting the best flavors out of the featured items! The dirty martinis with mixed plain and blue cheese olives is my “go-to” yet my SIL had a sweet cranberry one that wow if you like a martini with a splash of cranberry then go for it. We were celebrating my 45th bday and Kirby’s didn’t disappoint! We started with the stuffed shrimp (bar menu) and mostly eaten in the pic because I forgot to take a pic b4hand with this amazing b something sauce (kinda lemony wine cream) yum! Then fried pickles with yet another yummy sauce. And of course the tender grilled lamb chops (HH menu) (yup you got it another amazing sauce), baked herb Boursin cheese (HH menu-fresh roasted garlic cloves - only order on a 2nd date or up or you may turn your date away with your breath haha) delicious! Soy sauced sliced beef (bar menu) I think with a chimachuri sauce that’s great; meat so tender and buttery! Steakhouse sliders (bar menu but had ordered the French dip sliders but didn’t disappoint) very flavorful and fries cooked perfectly as well as raw oysters where I mixed the cocktail with the pesto EVOO or whatever with extra horseradish that again was Amazing! And fresh bread with plenty of butter to soak up any of the sauces mentioned above just because they were all so good! Ending with the bourbon pecan pie with a great flavored ice cream that we all shared a bite (or 2!). The lighting at first was dark yet naturally lit since the sun was still up at 5 but by the time we left around 6:30pm it was darker, it could have been lighter but I guess if we had kept our candlesa d not “shoo’d them away it would have been lighter) but we ordered so much food for our party of 6 we needed the table room. However still a 5 star experience!“
