“Me and my fiancé are obsessed with this place. Our favorite dish by far is “char kwe teow” by a long shot. We literally dream about it. This time we also got the garlic eggplant and salt and pepper squid. No complaints. Staff is very attentive and food comes out pretty quick for a sit down restaurant. If I had I give it a con, it’s very loud. There’s just so many people enjoying their food. ❤️ Definitely worth a visit.“
“This is a great Chinese restaurant for Cantonese food especially their clay pot rice. They have a lot of varieties of dishes served in clay pots with rice in. This is traditional Cantonese food and Rice to Meet You serve them very good. The only catch is that these clay pot rice takes long time (about 15 minutes) to cook. So just need a little bit patience for great food.“
“Nice and friendly staff. Cheap prices. The stir fried beef rice noodles were really good, highly recommended. The beef was not as processed as you find in other places (AKA velvety beef, soaked in baking soda), it is a bit rougher texture like thin slices of steak. The rice noodles were soft yet has a slight bouncy chewy texture to them.A bit more "wok hei" plus some onions would have been perfect.“
“This was my first time ordering take-out from this very busy restaurant. Will definitely return. The BBQ pork fried rice was freaking amazing. Will definitely order again. The beef noodles were good, but did not digest as well next day. Tasted good, but maybe too oily in the end. Would not order egg rolls again, but want to try other items. They use fresh and good ingredients. Want to try something with vegetables next time. Will try Peking duck with rice in a couple of weeks.“
“The food is excellent!!! I am on budget and it was perfect. I was able to get bbq pork and two other sides for 7.04. the portion was very generous that i had lunch and dinner. I find myself eating there at least once a week. The staff if very nice and is very welcoming. I will continue to go there since there are variety of food that i want to try.“
“Good old fashion Chinese food. Very friendly team at this restaurant. The waitress works there part-time, was very hospital, and provided a list of recommended restaurants in Bellaire Blvd. We brought back leftovers and were very good the next day. We thought about going back. However, we wanted to try as many restaurants as we can during our visit. There were a lot of take out during Christmas Eve, though they were one of a few restaurants opened in Diho Square, east of Ranchester Drive.“
“came here on an early Saturday morning, but there were quite a few patrons already, the uncle working there was very welcoming and after find out that we were there for the first time, he offered many recommendations include the freshly made roast duck, which was very good. The satay beef instant noodles tasted great but I think $12 something is kinda expensive for instant noodles. The congee was ok, i might add a bit more salt, but my wife liked it. the roast duck was very good, juicy, flavorful, and the skin was thin and crispy. The fried dough (油條) was just ok, kinda old. Overall the experience was good and i would be back to try out more dishes.“
“Everything was perfect to us . We enjoyed good outdoor seating area and good food . Our sticky rice with mango have like scoop of ice cream which is a plus . The portion of each plate was enough for us. Reasonable rice . Thai tea was average. Two of us finished everything ?We ordered the salad (B1) , Tom yum soup , green curry, pineapple fried rice , sticky rice with mango .“
“I'm not sure of the weekends are the busiest but on a Sunday, it was. I got here 20 minutes after their opening time of 10:30am. The parking spaces, before valet, were all filled up. Luckily, I was seated right away once I got in the restaurant. There were plenty of tables but it was getting taken every almost every minute. The staffs were very friendly and really helpful! I wanted a specific food item and they went to get it for me. I didn't have to wait for the carts to come around.I don't think I had one bad dish from what I tried: pretty good food quality and consistency. The siumai was juicy, har gow wrapper was transparent and bouncy, rice noodle was soft and chewy, pork belly skin was crispy and meat with fat ratio was balanced. The cold marinated chicken was not bad, either.Great place for big groups of people and I actually saw someone with their dog inside so I'm guessing you can bring pets?Parking: There is parking spaces and they do have complimentary valet as well. If all the parking spaces are taken, valet is the only other option.“
“It is a decent place for traditional Chinese/Cantonese Dim Sum. They are inside. You need to walk into the tunnel. They have a lot of options for Dim Sum. I tried some of them and most of them were good. I liked their Red Chicken Feet, Pork Blood, Steam Pork Spare Ribs, Steamed Beef Tripe Mix, and Stir Fried Beef Flat Rice Noodle.“
“My family love this restaurant and come here few times per year even the location is not close to home. The food is great except once we ordered togo dishes for lunch. That might be on the main chef’s off day! Some of their staff are very nice but when they are busy, it’s hard to get their attention.“
“TLDR: Great décor, great selection, great food.Ocean palace is one of the best Dim-sum spots in Houston. Their décor to menu selection is one of the best I've seen giving a unique experience.Examples of unique dim-sum options I've seen only here and loved:Soft-shell crab rice paper-rollTruffle shrimp and Pork shumaiRoasted duck rice-noodle roll“
“Very good quality and best is the kitchen sizzling flavor. Price is good. In Jusgo Center on Bellaire. We ordered the ginger scallion beef, pepper pork kidneys, and sautéed shrimp & fish. When you ordered three dishes, the house will give a free dish depending on the daily pick of the restaurant. Great value!“
“Hey, I've got to talk to you about this incredible place we found for DIM SUM in Houston! Seriously, you've got to give it a shot! It's absolutely amazing and totally worth a visit, plus the prices are really reasonable. So, next time you're in Houston, make sure you swing by and give it a try. I promise you won't be let down!“
“I've been going to this restaurant for about 10 years. The staff is pretty small and, depending on how busy it is, you might have to wait for your food. But the hard working ladies here always manage to serve up a delicious meal. I should have written a review so many years ago but I just wrote my first one for another business and i figured it's time to give R House their roses. I usually end up going with a group of anything from 2-12 people and I always have a good meal. I'm always treated well by the staff and even though this restaurant is almost an hour away from where I live I always come for a meal 3-5 times a year because it's worth the trip. It doesn't seem they stay open until 2 am anymore and that's upsetting but the food is still good. I will just have to eat earlier.Vegetarian options: You have to ask but there are some options.“
“Food was AMAZING. Japanese salted egg pumpkins were a bit undercooked but good otherwise the food was stellar!! The owner is the nicest man. That being said I wish I could give them ten stars, but the service is absolutely awful. When I came in I was ignored. When I finally waved down an employee to help me be seated because we had a reservation they cut me off mid sentence when an elderly Asian lady walked in. They went right over to her ignored me and promptly sat her walk in party of 12. When I waved the employee down once more once he went back to doing nothing he just said "oh see you have a table now go sit go sit." Once he realized that I was not in fact with the lady that walked in after me he got angry and frustrated and started arguing that he had already helped me despite me CLEARLY not being seated I finally walked out. When my older uncle finally showed up he tripped over himself to seat us. I'm not sure if there is an age limit to eat here but I'd think being 30 would hit it. It was either that or the fact that everyone else that came in could speak Chinese and I could not. Also they do this thing where everytime someone ordered the house special duck a bell is rang and they shut off all the lights in the restaurant to be punch black so you can see the duck being lit on fire. I'm not sure why they wouldn't just dim the lights because s the most popular item the lights went pitch black while people were eating every five minutes, and that was horribly annoying. It's delicious but the smokey smell and the fire are gimmicky at best. The fire is still clearly visible please stop this. When your entire restaurant groans everytime a bell is rang its because we all hate it.“
“An absolutely outstanding restaurant! I went for lunch and started with the lunch specials flat rice noodle with beef and fried capelin fish. Both dishes had nice portions, great flavor, and surprising value at $7.50 each. I also got the famous roast pork, half roast duck, BBQ pork, and some snow pea leaves and garlic. Everything was delicious! It was basically a perfect meal, and I'll be returning soon!“
“New Palace is always packed and for good reason. The food is delicious. The portions are generous, and the staff are efficient and friendly. Although there are always a lot of patrons, I have never felt hurried. We are a party of 2 and we have always been seated quickly.“
