Ocean Palace is a popular choice for dim sum, particularly on weekends when there may be a wait time. The restaurant offers a variety of delectable dishes, including the renowned fried taro puffs, siu mai, and custard buns. While the quality and consistency of some dishes have seen a decline over the years, Ocean Palace remains a decent option for basic dim sum at reasonable prices, with quick service.
The restaurant is known for its fresh and delicious dim sum, with the push carts adding a nice touch for customers to choose their favorites. The Salt and Pepper Tofu, Fried Shrimp with Walnut in Mayonnaise Sauce, and Salt and Pepper Fish Filet are all highly praised for their flavors and preparation. The restaurant also offers a variety of other Chinese dishes, such as Sauteed Clams in Black Bean Sauce, Fried Lobster in Salt and Pepper Seasoning, and Rice Noodle with Beef and Chinese Broccoli, which have received positive reviews.
Despite the mixed reviews, Ocean Palace continues to be a popular destination for dim sum and Chinese cuisine in Houston, with customers praising the quality, variety, and value of the dishes.
