“The seafood here is so fresh and absolutely delicious! If you order fried food be sure to order it “seasoned.” My recommendation: seafood gumbo and the Mate Plate seasoned. You choose two proteins. I like the fried catfish filets and fried shrimp with hush puppies. If you prefer, they can broil the proteins. SO GOOD!“

“I loved it the first time, I visited. The 2nd time they changed the item that I get the seafood platter and when I asked he said that is how it's supposed to be when the menu says big as day another way. He never came out to talk or apologize for the mistake or nothing. He sent the waitress, who she also didn't apologize. I may try them again but will order something after verifying that the kitchen knows what they are cooking!“

“We had an amazing experience at Balboa! Starting with the complimentary valet, which was quick and friendly service. The entry to the restaurant was super nice and a great photo opportunity spot. Kyrah took excellent care of us during our visit, and we loved the team style service. It felt like we had a team serving us, and they are so quick and quiet that you can continue to hold conversations and visit but someone is always near if you need anything. Kyrah took special care to "refresh" our cocktail glasses when we finished about half of our drinks, and made excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing. Our table tried the fried shrimp, oysters, spicy ahi tuna roll, crab cake, Post Oak ribeye with pureed potatoes, salmon with the most delicious and unique salad, and heirloom tomatoes. The cocktails were delicious, including the Gold Rush, Rum Dum, and el Guero. The restaurant vibe is romantic but fun and sophisticated and has an open kitchen concept where you can see the food being made if you care to watch. I will most definitely be back and can confidently recommend this place to anyone!“

“My husband and I are in Houston for his cancer treatment at MD Anderson. Needless to say, not a trip for fun, but it’s his birthday today, and we wanted to get out of the hotel at the hospital and celebrate just a little. Because he has stage 4 stomach cancer, his dietary needs are limiting, so eating out can be difficult. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. This being our first trip to Houston, we know little about the area, and our cab driver helped us decide on Navy Blue. Well, can I just tell you, they were soooooo accommodating of our needs!!! The chef went out of his way to prepare some special items for us, so my husband could eat. Though his portion size is limited, he thoroughly enjoyed his food, as did I. I ordered a small appetizer of baked in butter Prince Edward Island oysters, simply prepared, and oh so delicious. My husband loves oysters, but they haven’t loved him since he’s been sick. He even had one, and enjoyed it. My husband also loved the cheddar biscuits, and seaweed butter, I couldn’t believe he was able to eat the whole biscuit. They have a simply prepared section in their menu, and you can order your seafood pan seared in olive oil with simple seasonings. This was great for his situation, and he had beautiful pink juicy gulf shrimp. I had the Dover sole, and it was perfectly prepared and boned tableside. Gorgeous presentation, and the fish was absolutely delicious. I ordered the sautéed spinach, and he the creamed potatoes. We shared those, and both were delicious. All the staff were well trained in service and they were super attentive. Our server was magnificent. Thank you Navy Blue for showing us a lovely night out, in an otherwise difficult time. We highly recommend your restaurant to anyone in the Houston area looking for fabulous food, fabulous service, and exquisite attention to detail. This place is wonderful!!!“

“My husband and I have been loyal patrons of Goode Company Seafood for years and have always enjoyed our dining experiences. Shelley, our longtime waitress, has been an integral part of those visits. She was always warm, welcoming, and attentive, knowing exactly what we liked. We were saddened to learn that she was recently let go. While we don’t know the reasons behind this decision, her absence has certainly been felt, and our dining experience hasn’t been the same without her. We truly miss her and hope she may return someday, as she brought something special to every visit.“

Despite it being a busy Saturday night the service was very accommodating. Very reasonable prices and they've got a pretty nice selection on Sake and Soju, too. “I am from Haughton, LA (home of Dak Prescott). I have been following Lotus Seafood on Facebook for 3 years until I finally made a trip to Houston last week on 7/11/24. The food looked so good on Facebook, but the amazing taste when covering with the Crack sauce. I will definitely be back next year during crawfish season. 😋. If the seafood was this good, I cannot imagine how good the crawfish is.“

The crawfish was legit AF. Being from New Orleans it is nice to see people who know how to actually cook the mudgugs (actually season the water and not the shells). We ordered the shrimp & scallop Rockefeller but they were out of that appetizer unfortunately. We were celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary, which was the day before, and our server Santiago surprised us with a chocolate lava cake. He was very friendly & accommodating.
