Love the different events they have been having. The Singo Bingo was a lot of fun this evening! Fun to meet new people and just have a good time. “Marais was wonderful! My CuzzoBestieSisteriend was in town from California. I wanted to try a new spot and have some bestie time! I selected the perfect spot!! MARAIS!!! Walking up to the venue, jazz music was playing. This put me in my happy zone immediately!! It set the mood right out the gate. We were seated with no wait. We made a reservation. Nick was our server. He was very personable. Top notch table maintenance and follow-up! Now, let's talk about the delicious food! We had the $40 brunch buffet. We felt it was as worth it! I tried the following: gumbo, bacon, sausage, hash potatoes, chicken & waffles, fried fish, greens, smoked salmon, boiled shrimp, grits..,,whewwww! I didn't get to enjoy the omelet station or the carving station. More reason to return...AND WE WILL! We washed it down with mimosas with OJ and PJ! Tasty tasty. We couldn't believe a full bottle of was only $10. I was expecting a champagne split not bottle! There is a bar area right off of the buffet lines. The bar has swings!! Like “when you were a kid” swings!! Also, there is patio seating too! Live jazz music was playing the entire time we were there! Again, another reason to return!! Great experience all the way around! I booked a birthday dinner for my boyfriend and the owner called me personally and spoke with me and made sure that she decorated our table personally and even got us a private room (which I had no idea was going to happen)! When we arrived, there were beautiful balloons, candles and a stunning room filled with low lights and music. Her husband even came in to make sure everything was to our liking and the waitress (Chloe) was outstanding! I cannot say how wonderful each and every person was that night and how great the food was as well. We will for sure be regular customers at this restaurant for years to come! “What a great experience! We learned that the chef is new and WOW! Wherever he left from is sadly much worse off for his leaving. Service is superb. Don't be fooled because it's in a hotel. “Went for the first time on Sunday. Upon entering, we approached the check in/ cashier desk. Wait staff were walking back & forth as we stood & no one said a word. No greeting, not we will be right with you. Not a word! One young lady ( Wish I would have gotten her name) she was sitting right there, preparing serving utensils. She did not say a word as we stood there. I've never felt so uncomfortable, unwelcome, & disregarded! Never! Finally, another wait staff that was helping over at the check out computer, walked over & asked the young lady who was sitting there to assist us! Still, not a word to us! The young lady stood up & with the worse attitude, she asked did we want to sit inside or outside. While I was asking my husband his preference, she rolled her eyes & and rudely asked , " Inside or out!? Again, I wish I had asked her name, but she appeared to be the youngest. Between being disregarded as we walked in & stood, and her attitude, I told my husband I was uncomfortable & wanted to leave! He pushed back & said let's give it a chance beyond this! So we stayed & were seated outside as we preferred. Then comes our waitress! What a pleasant surprise & she turned our experience around! We learned that she had not been there but 3 days or 3 weeks. ( I forget) her name is Amanda & she is pregnant. She's such a pleasant & nice person! We felt badly for sitting outside, because she worked so diligently. It was quite a walk in the heat, because we chose to sit outside on the pier that was a bit of a walk. Again, she was so pleasant & professional! The drinks & food are superb! From the oyster 🦪 appetizers, to the platters! Delicious! Some of the best seafood & side orders, ever! Truly! Drinks are flavorful, delicious, and they aren't stingy or scarce with the liquor. 😆 I would absolutely visit again, but truly afraid of the treatment, unless it's Amanda again“

So much flavor and perfectly tender. I also grabbed a side of corned beef hash — if you’re a corned beef lover, this is the one. Crunchy on the outside, packed with flavor, and paired with the best grilled onions. My husband went with the chicken fried steak plate. The steak is tenderized and made fresh to order, and the gravy was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this place. The service was top-notch, and TAMMY did an incredible job welcoming everyone into the diner!“

“We dined at Blake's Bistro several times during our stay at the San Luis Resort and Spa, enjoying lunch twice and dinner once. The food, every single time, was outstanding. The flavors were consistently fresh and vibrant, and the kitchen is clearly capable of delivering memorable dishes. That said, the dining experience itself was a bit more complex. On our first lunch visit, the wait for food stretched to nearly an hour, which felt unusual given that the restaurant was not particularly busy. I voiced this concern with the hotel, and to their credit, the food and beverage manager Tiffany reached out to me directly. She was warm, apologetic, and proactive. She even personally facilitated our next lunch, ensuring we were better taken care of. While the wait was still around 45 minutes even with her assistance, I appreciated the effort and sincerity of the follow-up. It showed that management genuinely cared about our experience. In terms of food, it was well worth the patience. My children absolutely loved the ribs—though it's important to note they take extra time to prepare, so plan accordingly if you order them. The kitchen also deserves credit for its ability to accommodate gluten sensitivities without compromising flavor. My two personal favorites were the Baja fish tacos and the grilled tofu, both of which can be prepared gluten-free. These dishes were flavorful, fresh, and versatile enough to enjoy at either lunch or dinner. Overall, Blake's Bistro offers an excellent menu with delicious, thoughtful food. Just be prepared to linger a bit longer than you might expect, especially at lunchtime. The service recovery efforts by management were genuine and commendable, and the kitchen shines when it comes to taste. If you have the time, it's a dining experience worth savoring.“

“Omg my son’s boss told him about Kelley’s and we had never ate there. We had just got off our 9-day cruise & wanted some serious comfort food. Kelley’s definitely fit the bill. Homemade hand-battered chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes/gravy, fried okra, salad & fresh rolls! All servings were HUGE and delicious 😋 all for $16. I ate off of my lunch 3 times! We will def be back. Amanda was our server & she was on top of everything & great service. We were only disappointed that they were out of the Texas size homemade biscuits from the breakfast run. If you’ve never ate there before u gotta try it and u will be back.“

“I have been eating here for so many years. The Best Catfish in the Greater Houston/Galveston area. I have since moved away from Dickinson, but I come to see Ms. Lily once a month and still get the "All You Can Eat Catfish." A MUST when in the area or traveling to Galveston. 5 stars all the way...they treat you like family.“

“Just moved to the area and I love this spot super nice owner down to earth & he said he has been in business as long as I have been alive 28 years. Food is hot and fresh made to order open kitchen so you can watch him prepare your order. I also like how he is super helpful with questions or substitutions and the drive-thru is a nice touch. Some would say the interior is dated but I would say it has a charm to it. I will definitely be back to try other food here I had the jalepeno double double burger & spicy fried chicken sandwich both huge, hot, & fresh with perfectly seasoned crinkle cut fries with a side of bbq & hot sauce.“

“It's a fast food place. Not a free standing building. It is half burger king and half gas station. Difficult to get to. You must pull into the gas station parking lot. If you drive to the Burger King building it will take you 5-10 minutes to circle back around to get back. You can only enter the parking lot from one direction.“
