6 Best Craft Breweries near The Colony

Beard Science Sour House Bar •
5959 Grove Ln Ste B, The Colony

“If you love sour beers, you need to check this brewery out! I finally caught them when they weren't closed for a private event. They have a wide range of flavors to choose from. Some that you wouldn't expect to be sours, like Cinnabyn and Pumpkin Spice, but they somehow work. The lady behind the bar was great, too. If you don't like sours, they have a decent selection of whiskey to choose from as well.“

3 Nations Brewing Brewery • $
1033 Vandergriff Dr, Carrollton

“This was such a great brewery. I had some delicious beers and a great time talking to the brewers. I got some pretty awesome gifts too. Great beer, great location but parking kind of sucked. Other than that, definitely a must try if you’re in the area. Good times and delicious brews.“

ODD Muse Brewing Company Brewery • $$
4488 Spring Valley Rd, Farmers Branch

“It is a very nice quaint place to enjoy a good selection of craft beers. They do not have a restaurant and offer only chips etc. if you want something to munch along with your beer. There was a food truck outside when we went but left by about 8:00 PM. The brewery has ample sitting space both inside and on the patio. It will be good to sip cold beer during a not-so-cold sunny afternoon or during summer evenings. A little out of the way but definitely worth the drive.“

Breaking Brew Meadery Brewery • $
14438 Midway Rd, Dallas

“I attended their mead making class and had the BEST time! The class was well organized and included both a honey tasting and mead tasting - which were excellent! All of the supplies to make our own half gallon batch of mead was included in the registration. We even learned about honey bees, honey, mead making, and Breaking Brew Meadery itself. This was a lot of fun! I highly recommend visiting them and definitely take the class!!“

Bitter Sisters Brewery Brewery • $
15103 Surveyor Blvd, Addison

“The Dallas craft beer scene is growing in complexity, with many finer offerings to tempt fans of the brewer’s art. I’ve been to Bitter Sisters a couple of times before this visit, and loved their approach to IPAs.This time was no exception, with their Awkward Phase NEIPA (6.5%ABV) a delightfully approachable brew with a pleasant nose and easy finish. No excessive gratuitous hops here, just solid IPA. I had two. OK, three. But I was walking. And from my perspective, one of the best parts about Bitter Sisters is that it is a walkable destination from several nearby neighborhoods. My daughter and her hubs live just under 1.5 miles away, and thanks to a beautiful pedestrian walkway, I was able to go door-to-door in less than 25 minutes. Sure beats driving in Dallas area traffic. The vibe at Bitter Sisters is more that of a local tavern that happens to brew its own beer. When I arrived at the opening hour (4pm), I was the only customer. I had great conversation with the guy tending bar, and then slowly his regulars began drifting in. They all knew each other, by virtue of them all being multiple repeat offenders. And that’s the sign of good beer. When people keep coming back for more over and over, you know that they’re brewing it right. Pull up a stool and have a few pints.“
