“You know it’s gonna be good when the folks at the table next to you start chatting about how they’ve been coming for 16 yrs! Awesome fried shrimp and boudin balls! Cinderella will take your order and cook your food just the way you like it!”
“Incredible ambiance, amazing food, and authentic county acoustic music. Such a treat to come to this historical site and enjoy and evening with good people! Love this place!”
“Easily one of my favorite places to eat! I've tried many things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The services is spectacular, the food is fresh and so delicious. The atmosphere gives the iconic "Italian family" from the decor to the hospitality, wonderful family restaurant.”
“It was a great fine today. Drinks and food were great. Don't be in a hurry, for this is not an in & òut. So, soak in the atmosphere, all the guitars and all the music.”
“Mark catered for my grandmas 90th birthday. He did a wonderful job! We had brisket, chicken, green beans, and mac and cheese for 50 people. Everyone got their fill and we had plenty left over. It was everyone’s opinion that all of the food was absolutely delicious. Thanks again Mark for making our party great!”
“My grandkids call Mr. Martin a hero. He was a firefigher in NYC during 9/11. We have been coming to get ice cream at Mr. Martin's since they were small. He is so very kind to our little boy we adopted with down syndrome. We love him.”
“Stopped for a late lunch. Herrera was pleasant and the staff was attentive and very nice. Chips and salsa were good and the salsa had a good kick to it. We ordered the jalapeños poppers as an appetizer and a chicken fajita torta and the beef fajitas. The poppers had good flavor bit used a different batter than most .. a little bit different and not my preference. Their was plenty of food to eat but both the chicken fajitas and the beef fajitas could have used more flavor.”
“We stopped in for lunch. No expectations since I found it on Google maps. We entered a white tablecloth restaurant with an interesting menu. They have a full bar, liquor beer and wine. I ordered the chi-fry. It was served with cornbread and some tasty yellow carrots. My wife had the smoked brisket Reuben. Both were very good. The atmosphere was posh/rustic. Aside from the tablecloths there was a full set of dinnerware. The plastered walls had places showing the brickwork underneath. The service was friendly if unpolished.I never remember to take pix, sorry.”
“If you are driving around Navasota this is a must! Food was good, there is a super nice young lady helping costumers and the atmosphere is Texas style. We order the Navasota burger and french fries no regrets.”
“Delicious soups and sandwiches. The Santa Monica was a great choice. I also had some Green Mango Peach tea which was served on a cool little tea server. The atmosphere is “tea party” vibe and feels very fancy, although it seems that dress attire is casual. Service was great.”
“You will not find a better steak anywhere in the area. Seasoned with a bit of pepper, and soft enough it came apart with a fork. The onion rings were to die for. Chicken fried steak and baked potato. Wow. And reasonable prices. A huge 14oz steak for $25. This would be $40 at a chain steak house and not nearly as good.”
“I stopped on a road trip because I hadn’t had my espresso shot for the day. The coffee was excellent. I kept it simple with a latte with coconut milk but it was really delicious! Something different yet delicious about it! Hubby got tea which was also had a really good tea flavor. It actually tasted like tea and not colored water! Downside for me…the large tea is only 24 ounces. Next time I will try the food.”
“The Dirty Martinis are the dirtiest here!!Amy sure can make them right. Love the staff, fun group of sassy ladies for a great time out and good food.Especially for the Navasota/Brenham area.”
“Stop here for a coffee, and loved the place, every flavor, lovely and so helpful barista. The hotel is a gem. Great little place to take pictures. We'll be stopping by for sure, every time.”
“Had a great time hanging out here with my daughter and son-in-law. They are regular supporters of this unique bar. The owner is friendly and does a great job getting to know each customer. We played a fun betting game using a roomba on a pool table that would knock the balls in. Whatever ball was left was the winner of the jackpot (buy-in was $10 a ball).”
“Food good, staff pleasant. I especially liked that fried okra is offered as a side in addition to fries and onion rings. And the fried okra was EXCELLENT. But after being in business for 57 years, couldn't you expand to have more room and some actual tables and chairs? Seating is uncomfortable and too many people in one little room. Being cramped was my only complaint. Take-out would solve that problem but I was in Navasota from out of town so nowhere else to go. All said, you can't beat the price.”
“Great place, excellent service. We're going back just to check out the rooftop seating area and the rest of that shopping area. Waitress recommended a delicious drink from a local farm(our next destination). I'm definitely going back a couple times. Worth the drive from Houston. Try the spinach artichoke dip with crustini and the crab cake balls were alright. Pit stop on our way back from Austin, decided to check it out as soon as we saw it on the way there. Entrees look fantastic, just read the menu and drool.”
“It’s the cutest little Backery. It’s a little door but the inside is a big surprise. They have a variety of delicious pastries and breads. The service is amazing.Try it! It’s ”
“I very rarely, if ever give 5 Stars. This place is the best Tex Mex in Texas. Now that is a bold statement. Try the fresh Guacamole. That’s it, come here and taste.”
“Just moved here from Chicago, and I have to say the barbacoa taco are fire and the tortillas are homemade!!!! They owner were so nice and friendly! Will definitely be coming here often!”
“First time to eat here, but definitely not the last time , The food and Service were both awesome ! Still have so many of their delicious sides to try on our next visit. Thanks for some of the best BBQ I have eaten in many years !”
“I had the pleasure of meeting this gentleman today right as he was about to close up. He made me a helluva a deal because of that. However, what I liked more was the chili cheese dog he made me. Mannn was it good. And to top it off, he offered great conversation while preparing everything. I can’t wait to see him and his cart again!”
“This is a giant hole in the wall that we would’ve never eaten at if we wouldn’t have seen the other reviews. Food was super fresh large portions great prices..”
“Super quaint and vibrant vibe. While finishing up a little retail therapy, out the corner of my eye, a sign for mimosas snatched my eye. I quickly entered and grabbed a seat in the bar. The uber friendly bartender(Sat am)took amazing care of me and recommend another place to visit after Patout's. I will be back to try some of the light fare that everyone seemed to be enjoying with their wines, beers and seltzers. Glad I stoppped in. Will be back soon.”
“This was my first visit. My waitress was nice and polite even though her English was a bit choppy. My Spanish is not that great either but we communicate well. The food was nice, hot and fresh. My margaritas were strong and delicious how I like them. I also ordered Soapapillas (idk if I spelled that correctly). They were so fluffy and delicious. I will be back soon.Parking: The parking lot is a bit small but it’s free and the spots are a good size.Kid-friendliness: Children are welcomed here.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking is available.”
“It was surprisingly yummy for gas station food.Fried rice and orange chicken/shrimps were super delicious ?.The cook was super fast too. Definitely stopping by again.”
“They are very polite - asking us if all ingredients were okay or if we didn’t want certain ingredients. The breakfast tacos are filled very well. What normally would take 4 breakfast tacos to fill someone up would be easily 2 tacos from here. The enchiladas were great. Normally, I eat it with salsa, but it was prepared well enough that I didn’t even need or remember to eat with salsa.”
“My family was starving and couldn't wait any longer so we decided to stop in Navasota for lunch. We saw this taqueria open (on Sunday) and decided to give it a shot. It took us off guard because it's a Western Store and Taqueria in one. We popped in and they had plenty of seating, it smelled delicious, so we decided to go ahead. We ordered several street taco plates and a beef fajita quesadilla plate with rice & beans. Now, I'm kicking myself for not getting pictures of the food, but as I said, we were starving! It was absolutely and utterly delicious. Our favorite was the beef fajita quesadilla, which isn't your average quesadilla. It was packed with sautéed onions, peppers, steak, and yummy hot cheese. The flavor was out of this world. They also have a red salsa (habanero) and a green salsa (salsa verde) that is served alongside your food. They were both flavorful and delicious, too! The staff was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. They check on us numerous times throughout our meal. I forgot to add, you order at the front before you sit at your table - it's a quick, easy, and pleasant experience. My family will be back for sure, and we'll also be recommending the Taqueria to our family and friends who often pass through town. My recommendation: give this place a shot! You will NOT be disappointed. We are stuffed and happy. Thank you for the hospitality and great food! We sure appreciate it in times like these where it's hard to find...”
“The burgers are amazing! My son said it was the "best burger I've ever had in my life" and my husband had two. You can tell that the food is homemade to order and not mass produced. Well worth the drive from Houston. We'll definitely be back.”
