“I was down in Houston for a week and stumbled upon this one of many donut shops. This one stands above them all. We came in almost every day. The donuts and kolaches are great but do not sleep on the croissant sandwiches I think those might be the best thing in a wealth of great food. Linda was there every day we went in. She’d throw in some donut holes for my kids and chat with me. It was a special ritual for the week we were here. She was kind, warm, and thoughtful in a tough time for us. You can taste the love in the food. I cannot wait to come visit next time we are in Houston and my kids will be heartbroken we are 1500 miles away again.“

“I would say that this is a hidden gem but it's really a gem that MANY people know and visit...just off the beaten path a little. It happens to be on our bike route, so we often stop then as well as anytime wifey and I head out of town. Very friendly "staff" (family) and always clean. Food is great (coffee good too). I'm a kolache person, so they have a good selection. Seating is adequate as well.“

“I grew up in Clear Lake and frequented this donut shop pretty much every day before work. I have since left Houston and have moved to DFW, but I always make a point to stop by when I’m in town visiting family. Mel is so friendly and personable, always remembers my name (regardless of how long it’s been since I’ve visited), and always provides service with a smile! He frequently tosses a freebee as well, which is never needed but always appreciated. Not to mention their jalapeño kolaches are probably the best I’ve ever had.

Chocolate icing on donut twist was rich and not weird processed chocolate like some other shops. Great price as well for two giant donut twists and jumbo kolache, only $7.“

“Mrs Elsa that works here is very friendly and nice, she's always in a good mood and smiling when I come in. The food is delicious, the kolaches are great but I especially love the spinach and feta or strawberry and cream kolache that they have. Also they have Vietnamese iced coffee which you can't just get anywhere, and it uses cafe du monde coffee to give it that authentic flavor. The only complaint is that I'm getting fat since I work in this area. 😆

“My husband I and just moved to the area. One of our first quests was a search for the perfect breakfast donut. Lo and behold, less than half a mile from our house, Dear Donut Man was there for us to check out! I’ve NEVER had a donut better than their cinnamon sugar donut. Now I get it every week if not every morning. My husband gets the sausage and cheese kolaches and has also said the same. If you blink, you’ll miss this place. So please take the time to stop by and try possibly one of the best donuts you’ve ever had in your life“
