“Just moved here from AZ and pleasantly to find this place. The restaurant was almost full on a Saturday night at 6:30 when we arrived. We were seated right away at the remaining seats at the bar. We ordered miso soup and three rolls for the two of us. We were served drinks immediately and we had received our rolls and finished by 7 pm. Great prices! It stayed full the whole time we were there and no wonder! The servers were so attentive- even noticed we didn’t have soy sauce as soon as we turned to look their way. I can’t eat gluten or eggs, and they have many more choices than I’m used to.“

“I ordered the Vegas roll and it was cooked perfectly—seriously delicious. I also tried sake for the first time and our waiter was awesome. I told him I wanted alcohol that didn’t taste like alcohol and he suggested the green apple flavor, saying it tasted like a Jolly Rancher… and he was 100% right. Super impressed with the service and the food. 10/10, I’d absolutely go back.“

“Amazing place to dine! Delicious food, great atmosphere and ambience, hibachi with Arnold is ALWAYS a pleasure, and not to mention the excellent customer service. I have been coming to this restaraunt for years, know the owners well, and adore the servers they have. They always are a pleasure. I am leaving this review since I am absolutely floored by the recent ones: must have been a party that was upset and had to drag in other people to leave negative reviews. “Not only does Asahi have delicious food at reasonable prices, they also have friendly and attentive service. Ian, the general manager, is so personable and accommodating. Our family looks forward to our Asahi outings and every dish we’ve tried had been amazing!“

“We went on a Saturday evening, and it got quite busy; we arrived at 5:30 and beat the rush. By 6pm there was a waiting line. The food was excellent - we liked everything we tried, including ginger stir fry and several sushis. But they were understaffed on the night we were there, and service was slow. We were enjoying talking with friends and didn't mind, but I hope this is something they improve.“

“Found my love for sushi here. I've had sushi at other places and either do not enjoy it, or i get sick. I have NEVER had that eating the delicious, fresh, and professionally made sushi here. I will continue to come to sushi ya draper until i am old and gone! Many thanks to the awesome family that works here!“

“This place is fantastic! It’s a new joint and with lots of social media exposure, it was very busy. But that wait was offset with just being able to get the sushi as soon as you sat down! The ability to call the wait staff with a push of a button was quick, efficient, and something I wish other restaurants would do. The price was higher than expected, but that’s largely because there’s so many good rolls there! I highly recommend this place!“

“This place is a hidden gem! One of our favorite local haunts. The sushi is always fresh, delicious, and infinitely creative. Not into sushi? The variety they have for other types of Asian cuisines is great, too. The stir fried glass noodle dish is a regular go-to as are the Thai curries. All around, a great neighborhood restaurant.“
