Good food! I don’t know if they are authentic (I assume it is) but I can say that this is a unique flavor and worths trying if you would like to try something new. The portion is huge. I ordered 3 things plus samosa for 4 people and we couldn’t finish it. I had many leftover meals afterward as well. The one person combo is probably the best as you can try all the different things and they are all good. I substitute for rice and I indeed like it better than the flour (probably because I’m more accustom to rice). The beef and chicken combo and samosa are also good. My least favorite is probably Cornis as the meat is too tough for me (it’s dried meat so it’s understandable). The place is a but small at the entrance but the seating area is slightly bigger. It look like authentic restaurant as it is connected to the African grocery next door. It’s a bit dark inside and with the smaller entrance make the air flow a bit limited. The staff were friendly even though they have quite thick accent. Overall, it’s a good restaurant if you are willing to try something new.

The food was spectacular and the server was on point with beverage refills. If you have never tried Ethiopian food, this is a must visit place in SLC.

A little shop with big flavors!
I suggest starting with the taste of mahider. The injera is amazing! As are the sambusas, my personal fave is the chicken one.
I've never been disappointed by the flavor, serving size, or quality!
If you are sensitive to spice I would suggest asking for a recommendation, because you can expect some amount in nearly all the dishes here.
Probably some of the best vegan options available!

Had it to go, very tasty
I've eaten in the restaurant and taken food out to go. Never disappoints. We usually get the vegetarian or chicken combinations, but today I had the alicha wot with injera and the lentil sambusas. It's the best injera I've had.

I LOVE this place. AMAZING FOOD, amazing service, amazing environment and murals on the walls. Order “The Taste of Mahider”. It’s a little taste of everything. You won’t regret it!! I’ve come here at least 10 times and the smell that greets me when I enter is my happy place.
I am in no way affiliated with the restaurant or its owners, just a big fan!! And I try to introduce as many of my friends as I can to it.
