“I love this place. Warm salsa is amazing! Super friendly and the food is great. I have super picky Mexican food eating friends and they loved this place too. Mariachi band on Tuesdays can be fun and remember it’s ok to say no to them if you’re not in the mood. The food does take some time, but the quality is worth it!!“

“When we first came to Utah in Aug 2020 we asked around and most people said there were not many good Mexican restaurants on SLC. Being from Southern California we know good Mexican food given the large Latino population. When we got a recommendation for El Gallo Loco, in Sandy of all places, we were skeptical but decided to go check it out. The words AMAZING do not even describe it. Alberto is super nice, friendly, and really helped us to pick dishes we thoroughly enjoyed. He is super humble about the place, and really took the time to find out what types of food and flavors we liked, and made recommendations which did not disappoint on any level. Their Tortilla soup is hands down the BEST we have ever had, and we’ve had a lot. Their chicken - WOW. Marinated and tender in any dish - tacos, burritos, fajitas - even just the chicken. They have 3 authentic salsas - the green sauce on burritos is so good we thought about it all week !! Chips are perfect - not greasy at all. Good range of drinks, beer, wine , margaritas and even horchata - if that’s not authentic I don’t know what is. This is one of our GO TO places for sure.“

“So yummy!!! we got the birriaquiles and chicken flautas (pictures) we also got choriqueso which was delicious but we didn’t get a picture because we devoured it! We also really loved their signature salsa it was delicious and had just the right amount of heat. The environment and ambiance was really nice and inviting! “The waitress was very nice. I ordered a small combo smothered no cheese. She brought it with cheese, asked if I wanted to send it back, and of course I didn't want to wait, so I said no. She said it would be free, but charged me anyways. We had a slight language barrier, so I didn't want to worry about it. It was slightly burnt as well. I probably should have sent it back, but I've never felt good about doing that. My girlfriend and I still had a nice time. I just suggest another Lafountain as I do love their food.“

“The burrito size has not diminished, like others in the area. They had food options I haven't seen at other locations. Had a mixed breakfast burrito that was really good.

The location is great. The only thing is that the bathroom needs a key from staff to use, and there were flies. Otherwise, a great location.“

My only gripe is because of the Hawaiian Sweet rolls, it falls apart WAY to easy. Instead of a container, wrap it in foil or paper. Otherwise, it was perfection.“

“Their portions are huge! My daughter and I have been here twice and we share the bowl. We also get their chips and queso. The cheese is good with a hint of spice. It's delicious! Highly recommend this location plus you get a mountain view!“
