“I’ve heard lots of good things from OG New Yorkers about this deli so I put it on my list of Local Spots to Visit.
Definitely worth your time/money/calories.
It is a bit crowded with shelves of product and the ordering style is different than what I’m used to. However this is a non issue.
The sandwich was piled high with thinly sliced ham and cheese, loaded with fresh condiments and on fresh, delicious bread.
The atmosphere is lively and not too crowded or loud.
Sit on the counter facing the window .. and you will have a lovely view of the city.
Parking is a bit tough to find.“

“Easily one of the best burgers in Utah. Skip the lines at the trendy burger joints and eat this. you'll thank me. I've tried the mushroom swiss and the pastrami so far and was REALLY happy with both. Excellent fry sauce!!! i got waffle fries one time 👍and wedges another 👎.“

“Caputo’s is the one place in Salt Lake City that truly feels like Italy. It has that old-world market energy — intimate, abundant, sensory. You walk in and immediately feel transported.
The deli and cheese counter is exceptional. A deep, curated selection of cheeses, olives, and imported meats displayed with care. The variety is impressive — aged Parmigiano, creamy blues, hand-sliced prosciutto, specialty salumi — all cut fresh to order. It feels authentic and intentional, not commercial.
The fish market is another highlight. Fresh, beautifully displayed seafood that reflects real quality and attention. It elevates Caputo’s from specialty shop to full culinary destination.
And then there are the chocolates! Caputo’s is known for its serious chocolate! single-origin bars, craft makers from around the world, rare and ethically sourced selections. It’s not an afterthought; it’s a curated experience for anyone who appreciates fine chocolate.
The local baked Italian bread is outstanding — crusty, airy, perfect for dipping or building something memorable.
Which brings me to the sandwich shop- an absolute must.
My favorite is the Muffuletta. Generous layers of cured meats and cheese, balanced by that briny olive spread, all held together by fresh, crusty bread. It’s bold, satisfying, and beautifully composed. The kind of sandwich you think about later.

“OMG! This place is AMAZING! If you're a first time visitor, they'll ask for your name, and then even remember you the next time you come in. That, along with their truly delicious food, is just 1 of the many reasons I keep coming back. Each day they serve a different daily special. Their meatball sub and sloppy Joe's are my favorites so far. Their chicken cordon blue is FANTABULOUS as well. But, it's more than just the food that keeps me coming back. Mandy, the owner, is exactly how 1 would expect an owner to be. Her friendliness towards every customer is more than just amazing. She, along with Lisa and Candice, make me feel like I'm much more than just a customer. I could probably go on and on, but, you get my point. Please come in and see all of this for yourself?“

“So yesterday at work I'm devouring the most magical of bagels while waiting for someone to help me for a will call. I was so invested in cream cheese heaven that I didn't notice two of the employees trying to get my attention from the other side of a glass partition. Shortly after (who actually knows how long they watched me just DESTROY said bagel) they came through the man door, one of them in tears while the other just said: "Man, I wish my girlfriend looked at me like you looked at that bagel." The epic bagel of this story? Brought to you by Maxi's Deli!“

I live in Texas and working here on bussiness and we have some great sandwiches in texas but salt lake you have a jewel in this place / plenty of meat ,fresh bread , and soup hot and tasty . lady made the sandwich just as I asked . Hope to come by again before I leave utah“

“Stopped in a had a sandwich for lunch. It was great. The German chocolate chocolate chip cookies was amazing.“
“I went to pick up my Christmas ham and there was already a well organized waiting area, outside the front doors.
They had a tent setup for the walk up customers with a simple crowd queue.
They had a Separate crowd queue set up for pre ordered, pre paid customers that moved quickly!
From now on, I will pre order and pre pay! 👍“

“Got some chicken noodle soup for my girlfriend here because she wasn’t feeling well. It was super fast and the made from scratch soup was delicious. Big points! And the split pea soup I got for myself was hearty without being too salty. I’ll be back soon to dine in (sandwiches and the clam chowder looked awesome)“
