“DO NOT miss the Smoked Kitchen. During a recent "leaf peeping" drive from Richmond, we visited Crozet in time for lunch. First, the location is easy to find and easy to park. Second, they welcome dogs. (A real plus.) But MOST IMPORTANTLY the the food is top notch and the service can't be beat. The pulled pork is the best we've EVER eaten. (I don't use CAPS very often.) Speaking as Virginia/North Carolina customers, that's quite a statement. It's dry, lean and melt in your mouth. Plenty of sauces to choose from if you wish. Absolutely terrific. We bought A POUND to take home. No kidding. The smoked chicken salad sandwich was excellent. And the beer - well, what a nice addition to a great meal.“

“Hands down the best catfish I have ever had. The BBQ was great. The mac and cheese was the closest to homemade I have ever had. And Jamie was fantastic! So glad we drove down here to celebrate!“

“Pulled up to Paulie’s Pig Out and immediately knew this wasn’t going to be some polished, overthought BBQ experience… which is exactly what you want.
This place doesn’t try to impress you. It just smells like smoke from about a mile away and lets the food do the talking. Which, frankly, is a bold strategy that pays off. 
Ordered the BBQ sandwiches, and I’m not exaggerating when I say they were borderline offensive—to every other sandwich I’ve ever defended. The smoky flavor hits instantly, like it’s been working overtime… because it has. Low, slow, and absolutely no shortcuts. 
The meat was tender, packed with flavor, and piled high enough to make you question your ability to finish it (you will… barely). No need to drown it in sauce… it stands on its own just fine.
This is one of those places that doesn’t care about being trendy… and ends up being better than most places that do.
10/10 would absolutely chase that smoke trail again.“
