“I hadn’t had food from here in years, since my dad used to bring home ras malai from here (which was a fav of mine). When in the area recently, I stopped in for lunch, not knowing that they actually offered a buffet!! I was happy to see this, as they had so many items on it that looked great:\n•\tSamosas\n•\tPakora\n•\tRice\n•\tChicken Tikka\n•\tSaag with beef\n•\tChicken curry\n•\tAloo Muttar\n•\tChana masala\n•\tGulab jamen \n•\tAnd so much more!\nThe pastry dough used to make the samosa was spot on and reminded me of the streets of Pakistan! The chick pea flour used in the pakora was flavored perfectly, though I wish it had a tad more spice to it. The other items I tried were great! Plus they made me a roti to eat it with.\n\nAll the food and service were just what I needed to scratch the itch I’ve had for this food for some time now. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re seeking authentic Pakistani food!“

I often find indian food to fall in the “good enough” category, but every dish ordered was flavourful and well-portioned. from the Chicken65 appetizer to the vegetable curry and everything in between, the dishes checked all the boxes. 10/10 would eat here again“

“Stopped by on my way over to Washington DC. Tried the buffet on Saturday, it's a pretty small buffet, but everything prepared is fresh, even the chutneys.
It's pretty hard to find fresh food, especially in a buffet setting. Because restaurants are usually trying to pass leftover food for their buffet.

The place is a buffet format with about a dozen dishes including two desserts, with one pan also holding the usual Indian condiments (the pickle was outstanding). Each dish was fresh, hot, refreshed as needed, and tasty with the heat level appropriate for a western palate. Not as many dishes as a large buffet but this was just perfect, and I'm guessing they rotate different dishes on some days. While the food is as good as most places, what I liked was the variety and quality. Service was impeccable, with dressed-up waitstaff and a very clean and elegant interior. Fine dining buffet! Lunch for two (no drinks) was around $23, just remarkable for Alexandria. It's in the shopping center, regardless of what your GPS may be telling you. “Visited Akmal’s kitchen with friends and family recently located in Springfield, the Desi Hub. It has by far the best tasting Pakistani food in Northern Virginia! Menu has great options for all kinds of food from appetisers, vegetarian options to specialty food! We ordered the chicken pakoras, chaat for appetisers and for main course, mix sizzling platter, goat korma, Nihari (fall off the bone beef), chicken biryani, butter chicken. The biryani was very fresh, very fragrant and the chicken fall-off-the-bone moist and tender--some of the best we've had. The butter chicken was excellent-the sauce wonderful to enjoy with the moist and flaky naan. They also have buffet every day, which I will try next time!
The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating! Everything has been consistently fresh, delicious, and filling. Generous portions as well. Will definitely be back here again n again!
