“I didn’t get any food so can’t speak to that but I enjoyed the cocktails and the vibe. Decent amount of seating and they have ports for charging. Sara Y was super friendly but once her shift ended the service was much slower. Located right by several American Airlines gates. Would come back for drinks but likely not food based on other reviews.“

“In recent years there seems to be a proliferation of small-plate Mediterranean restaurants. But Yayla remains as one of the best, reasonably priced originals in northern Virginia. There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. Wait staff and servers are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and not obtrusive. Don’t miss the nice selection of creative cocktails, wine variety and desserts. “We ate here during a week of house-hunting from out of town. This place is exactly the type of neighborhood restaurant we enjoy: good food, relaxed attitude. We had lamb shish kabob and trout stuffed with spinach and both were perfectly done. We ate on the patio at 8 pm and had no issues with mosquitoes mentioned in another review. The place was full and lively but not too loud and we had no wait. Just felt right in every sense. We ended up buying a house a few blocks away and expect to be regulars here.“

“Their signature thing The Gyro is spot on copious gyro meat balanced well with tomatoes, onions and tzatki. The side Greek Salad was tasty but heavy on the greens and a real Greek salad is cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, green peppers. I ordered way too much as the Gyro is a lot. Enjoy! Opa!!
PS Dolmades are cooked fresh when you order and are hot which was me to me, but also spot on. A really good side if you like Dolmades.“

“I love eating here — the portions are generous, the food is tasty, and the prices are great. The dining area — while bright and clean — isn’t super welcoming though. The air conditioning isn’t really keeping up, and the last few times I’ve been there, more than half the fountain soft drinks are out. I’ve switched to being more of a takeout diner, and it’s still a great value.“

The atmosphere is not the greatest in terms of dining in but the staff is very friendly! Just keep in mind the food is good and tasty. FYI the best item on the menu is the Greek Special Fish 🐟 - Branzino is absolutely amazing and full of flavor once you squeeze the lemon on it! 😋“

“This is the kind of place that you go to as a single person trying to get a quality meal without breaking the bank- you then take take someone there for a brunch date- further down the line you make it a regular place for you two. Flash forward you now have a family and introduce the kids to and they also love it. My point is this is the kind of place you will always go to and at every point in your life it will be there for you. I went with my girlfriend and now she's my wife and we still love it. When my Grandmother had severe dementia and didnt enjoy much she still loved going here and the staff and atmosphere gave her the feeling of being somewhere familiar and welcoming. New places opening up wont be like this which is why its so important to keep supporting City Diner- lets not make this a place that we only appreciate once its gone- its a place beyond the food- its a true family restaurant that has been there through multiple generations of my family.“

“Hidden gem of a shop, literally as you have to navigate through an office building to get there. The presumably owner was wonderful and very helpful, he also emphasized his use of extra virgin olive oil for health. I don’t think the Chicken Msakhen I got was on the online menu, but so so tasty.

More of a takeout shop than a date night vibe, but it does have free WiFi! Please consider giving them your business, it’s so worth it“

“I stop in here from time to time for late breakfast or lunch while at work and each time I leave with exactly what I ordered. Very consistent and affordable spot that used to take only cash and now takes card - which is nice. Some limited outside seating is available but this place is mainly a takeout location. Menu has all the standard breakfast items and they are available all day. The biscuits and gravy are basic but hit that homestyle taste for a bargain. I've never ventured outside of their breakfast food but I have no reason to doubt it's quality. If you need a quick and affordable breakfast/lunch this is your spot just south of DuPont Circle and by the Farragut Red Line Metro.“

We also got the Shish Kabob and Eggplant Parmesan. Both were ok, nothing special about either. The prices were very high so for the entrees so I expected better quality; however, .the portions were large.

We also got the Tiramisu and Cheesecake. Both were very good.“

Stopped in today and had an old favorite a gyro with some black olives - it was great as usual. Fast & friendly service as well. You can place your order online and come in and pick it up or just walk in and order.“

“What a lovely little gem on Kings in old town Alexandria. The staff was super friendly and welcoming right when we walked in. The menu had a ton of enticing options. Food came out quickly, was super fresh, and all three of us loved our meals. Got the Gyro myself. The meat was flavorful and the pita was perfect. The girls got breakfast pitas and loved them. Got the snack pack with the jalapeno humus too and it has the perfect kick. A really refreshing and authentic place to get away from all the American and Italian restaurants that line King.“
