About Yi's Traditional Korean Beef Soup

Yi's Traditional Korean Beef Soup is known for its delicious and home-cooked tasting food. The seolleongtang, kalguksu, and dumplings are highly praised for their flavor, with the seolleongtang featuring a rich, milky broth that is comforting and satisfying. The kimchi is considered one of the best—perfectly balanced, crisp, and tangy. Customers enjoy having extra kimchi and radish with their meals, sometimes even taking home a container. The food is satisfying and great for collagen, especially the Seolleongtang, which remains a personal favorite.

The restaurant's service has improved recently, with nicer servers, although some customers find them a bit bossy or rude. The space is open and comfortable, often busy but never crowded, and kept clean. It is a small restaurant but offers enough seats for a decent dining experience.

Popular dishes like the "Brisket Ox Bone Soup" and "Brisket Meat Platter" are still enjoyed, though some mention that the meat portion has become less compared to before. The broth can be bland at times but can be flavored with salty condiments at the table. Prices are considered high for the amount of food served, but many customers find it reasonable for the quality. An 18% gratuity is added for parties of four or more, which some find a bit expensive. Despite this, many customers still rate it as a good place for Korean broths, with overall good food and service. This restaurant deserves a high rating, as it is consistently good, especially for staples like Seolleongtang, Yukgaejang, and Kalguksu.

The food here is SO good. I typically don’t like manduguk but it was sooooooo delicious here. The broth had a lot of flavor and it was a generous portion. When we first came in, they said they ran out of soup, but they checked the kitchen, and they ended up having enough for the 3 of us. I suggest going here earlier for dinner in case they run out of soup broth! We came around 7 PM. Definitely worth visiting.
The beef soup is excellent and the best kimchi I’ve had in NoVA
Love the beef bone soup here, it’s tasty with self added salt and pepper, and it holds gelatinous texture that’s very satisfying! The beef brisket is also tender. Perfect to paired the soup with their kimchi and radish and the sauce also brings a little spicy hint to the soup. We’ve tried their combo with hamburger steak patty, we love it a lot. It’s Korean fusion which has a sweetness hint like bulgogi taste in the meat, the onions inside also blends well. We’ve ordered...read full review
