“My wife ordered more food than we needed because everything on the menu looked so good, and I’m very glad she did.

We had the cheonggukjang jjigae, dwaeji bossam, haemul pajeon, and japchae. The cheonggukjang jjigae absolutely stole the show. Rich, deeply flavorful, and so good that we finished every bit of it. The bossam didn’t last long either. We tore through the pork before realizing we were filling up fast.

At that point, we finally surrendered and asked for containers for what was left of the japchae and seafood pancake.

And then we kept eating the kimchi anyway.
That probably says the most. I don’t always love kimchi, and I was already completely full, but BONGA’s was so good that I just kept going back for more. Absolutely fantastic kimchi.

The service was just as impressive as the food. Everyone was warm and friendly, with genuine smiles throughout our meal. It felt welcoming from beginning to end.

I left BONGA already knowing that the next time I’m in Northern Virginia, I’m going to want to come back. Wonderful food, wonderful people, and easily one of the highlights of our trip.“

“I’ve been here a couple of times and I definitely recommend this place to anyone craving Korean ramen with lots of toppings. You pay around $8.50 for unlimited toppings which is a great deal. We also got a blue lemonade and peach green tea, they were so refreshing!

Everything is self-serve here and the staff will instruct you on how to cook your ramen and what to add to your bowl. There are also instructions on how to cook your ramen which is really easy to follow.“

I stopped by during lunch and ordered one item, but unfortunately, I ended up waiting about an hour and a half before receiving my food. It turned out that my order had accidentally been missed. However, the owner handled the situation extremely well, and I really appreciated the way they took care of it.

“We came here for the first time and had a great experience. The appetizer dishes, army stew and beef ribs are all delicious. This is my first time eating marinated crabs (both soy bean sauce and spicy sauce). It feels like jelly-ish in texture, and the staff recommended to eat with rice. I preferred the spicy sauce one over the soy bean sauce one since the soy bean sauce one left a weird texture on my tooth for a while. Although marinated crabs are not my cup of tea, I can see why some Koreans like it. Overall, it’s a really nice Korean family restaurant!“

“The best Korean restaurant in the area(probably best in VA)!
It is hard to find good Korean restaurant where main and side dishes are good, but this is the one. I eat here many times when I am craving for authentic Korean foods.all the servers are kind and know what they are doing.
This is Korean BBQ place with other Korean dishes, it is pricy like other BBQ places, but I think it is worth my money.
Only thing I do not like is, when you are there at a peak time, you have to wait. Also it can be very loud like typical Korean BBQ just like in Korea with people drinking alcohols but no biggie.“

“My family and I stopped by while traveling thru town. We ordered Bulgogi and Dak Kalgooksoo. Their Banchan were flavorful with the right balance of spice and heat. Entrée portions are generous. Our server was helpful and very nice. We were pretty happy to find this restaurant.“

“Came here with a group of friends and had an amazing experience. The kimchi is hands down the best I’ve had in the area — fresh, perfectly spicy, and not overpowering. I had the beef tofu stew, which was delicious with just the right level of heat. We also split the pork appetizer three ways, and it was a generous portion — more than enough as a side. On top of that, the food came out in about 5 minutes and still tasted fresh. Quick service and great food — we had a fantastic time. Highly recommend!“

“Literally the best homestyle Korean food I've ever had hands down. You can tell how you'll enjoy the rest of the meal based on how well the banchan are prepared. Best banchan I've ever had, best kimchi I've ever had.... I can go on and on. I wish I could replicate the same taste at home. This place ruined all other homestyle Korean food restaurants for me.

I don't really understand the negative reviews. I was skeptical with the 4 stars at first but then the food blew me away!! I wish this place was closer to me .. I'm so hungry writing this review already

When we first came in, they said they ran out of soup, but they checked the kitchen, and they ended up having enough for the 3 of us.
