I am the biggest Mexican food snob. Growing up in Mexico I can assure ypu I can assure you I i iw my authentic Mexican food. Mind you these are simple dishes like tacos, tortas, sopes, enchiladas, etc.. However when a place like El Comalito perfects it and does it all fresh and tortillas by hand, Wuuut???? THE EMPANADAS SLAP. I’m originally from out of town and I’ve been searching all over Charlottesville for a dish called Quesadillas Fritas. I came to this restaurant and got the chicken empanadas with cheese for takeout, and it was exactly what I’d been searching all over Cville for. I will certainly be coming back regularly from now on! (I wish I had a photo but I ate them all so quick ?)
