“Great spot to kick back, enjoy the mountains views and relax. The food was amazing and so was the staff. After taking a while to discover it, Bar Botanical will definitely be a regular spot we’ll be visiting frequently.”

“A truly hidden gem! We were visiting from DC and was looking for some Asian food. Found this place on Google and decided to try it. Wasn’t expecting much for an Asian food restaurant in a small town but it ended up to be top 5 Thai restaurants I have ever had.

The green curry was very tasty and at the right level of spicy. (most Thai restaurants didn’t cook food spicy enough even though it says two pepper spicy or more)

The clay pot was so great and was not something you’d find in any Thai restaurant.

Pineapple fried rice and pad see wee also were very solid. Also highly recommend the lychee iced tea - not too sweet and very flavorful.

My only complaint is the beef was a bit chewy which is often the case in most Thai restaurants.

The place was also decorated very well with very decent service.”

“SANDWICHES - Delicious sandwiches! Friendly staff, creative menu, fresh takes on old favorites. Kid friendly options too! Definitely recommend the Turkey Crunch, Ruben, Turkey Rachel, Hot Italian or Spicy Roni. The whole family loved it so much we visited 2 days in a row. We will be back.”

“Quick, easy, and your typical subway. Definitely a place to go if you’re hungry in Crozet. I always get the chicken bacon ranch, it’s always been kind to me.”

“Wonderful wine, quiet and beautiful location. My husband and I enjoyed our picnic lunch on their patio with our sweet dog by our side. We even bought a couple bottles to go. There was an issue with the order but they went above and beyond to correct it quickly. We definitely plan to return!”

“Great family restaurant that offers real northern style pizzas. They make their own fresh pasta and pizza sauce (unlike competitors canned sauces). subs are made on freshly baked homemade bread! Just yummy!!!”

“Delicious food. Ordered the ribeye, fish and chips, kids chicken tenders, and crispy chicken sandwich. My 4 and 2 year old ate well and it was very kid friendly. Not annoying crowded or loud.”

“This place is great! I’m picky and I found the food to be fresh, flavorful, and good portion sizes. We got Szechuan tofu, Hunan shrimp, vegetable lo mein, and an egg roll and everything was wonderful. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. The entrees also came with a nice variety of vegetables instead of just broccoli like you get most places. We’ll definitely be back.”

“This location is chronically understaffed. There is one young guy that is always working and honestly I’ve been there some nights and the line is out the door and he’s the only one there. I have to hand it to him, this is not exactly the most glamorous job and he keeps it professional. This is where we go for our ice cream when we don’t go to teeters, cause heaven knows Crozet creamery cost an arm and a leg. Thanks for making our blizzards!!”

“Had a fantastic experience! Got a wonderful Anaerobic Natural as a pour over and was super impressed. Autumn was super knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about specialty coffee. She also explained that Mudhouse has a lot of opportunities for employees to grow in their craft and make long lasting careers in coffee which is super encouraging to hear!

As a Marketing Director for a coffee shop, I can say that this is the type of experience that truly sets shops apart from the competition.

“Update: Since posting this review, I have observed improved staffing and morale at the Grit location in Crozet. The coffee is still excellent as usual and the manager always does a great job supporting the employees and providing a positive customer service experience.

Grit ownership and leadership need to address the poor staffing of the Grit location in Old Trail, Crozet.

Today I was in this location for at least 25 minutes: I waited 5-10 minutes for the barista to take my order when I was the only one waiting in line, then I waited another 15 minutes for 2 iced Americanos before checking on the status of my drinks- only to find there were still 3 tickets ahead of mine. At that point I canceled my order and received a refund.

I am a regular customer of Grit- Crozet; however, in recent months the staffing has been terrible. It is sad to see just one barista taking orders and making drinks by herself, who appears overwhelmed and tearful. At one point the tearful barista stepped away in the back to take a moment for herself.

This is no way to treat employees of a Grit location that is quite busy and receives a lot of community business, especially when I see that other Grit locations seem appropriately staffed. This location will only get busier as Crozet residential and commercial development continues.

Grit ownership and leadership- please address this obvious staffing and morale issue at Grit in Crozet. Until then, we will avoid the Crozet Grit location on Sundays and any other days that appear to be poorly staffed.”

“Stumbled upon Whistle Stop Grill and the Stoney Creek Freedom Fest this weekend. We had their Maple bacon burger and it was so good we had to get a second one the next day for lunch. I definitely recommend trying.”
