“Great place to sit, relax, and have a sip of something delicious! Bring your own snacks (they have snacks there too, but it’s fun to have your own variety too) and take a break. I love the old fashioned, but they have a lot of tasty drinks and you can always just sip it straight! Sit inside in winter, outside by the water in summer! It’s the best place to take a break!“

“Madison, Va— family owned and run business and has the freshest food. The steak tacos are so good! The steak is seasoned and has very good flavor. The salsas that come with the tacos are on point too! The Smashburger is 10/10 — fresh meat and comes with handcut fries that are not greasy but perfectly fried. We are coming back for the pupusas and shrimp and grits next time because they looked amazing too. I am so happy we found this place in Madison because we are driving back and forth to Stanardsville. Great place for lunch-dinner, and actually the brunch menu is solid. A lovely local restaurant!! We will be back.“

“Amazing authentic Belgian style lambic and gueze brewery. Most beers and cider are on the tart or sour side - but traditional Belgian rather than most US sours that skirt being vinegar. I was there for the 10 year anniversary and was lucky enough to try a few aged and collaborations they opened for the event - all were amazing. It reminded me of Cantillon or 3 Fontein at their best.
Food was also incredible- not at all what you would expect. There is a clear focus on quality ingredients and flavors. I got a bit of the raw tuna on fresh tomato and the peach cobbler. Both were superficially simple but with layers of complexity and deliciousness - just like the beers!“

“I recently hosted my retirement party for about 100 guests. It could not have been more perfect! From the beginning, Abigail was incredibly accommodating, the food was delicious, the cocktails top-notch and the service was outstanding all night long. Every detail was handled with care and our guests were truly impressed. I'm grateful for how seamless and special they made my celebration! I highly recommend the Black Twig for any event!“

“Just a short 7 mile drive from our home, we stopped by on a whim tonight and are super glad we did. The Stacked IPA was wonderful, the views amazing with lots of outdoor seating, and the indoor atmosphere inviting and unique. We can’t wait to bring a group next time.
