“This was honestly the selling point for me going on a hiking walk! Such a smart idea to have an ice cream parlor at the park. Love the train in the parlor that mimics the train in the park. They have many ice cream flavors, but Superman was not the tasty Superman ice cream I know so I didn’t really enjoy that flavor.
There was a park behind the parlor which was cute for kids.

The owners are kind and never get our order wrong. Our favorites are General Tso's chicken, pork in garlic sauce, beef lo mein, and crab rangoons.”

I actually get a little disappointed when he’s not the one bringing out my order because he’s just such a genuinely happy and kind person. No matter when I come in, he always has a smile on his face, is in a great mood, and makes you feel like he’s actually happy to see you. It’s rare to come across someone who is that consistently positive and friendly. He probably doesn’t realize it, but his attitude really does make a difference and makes coming here that much better. “Always great food no matter when we go! And service is usually on point. After the first year of hype, we've never had a problem doing a walk-in and being seated without waiting more than five-ish minutes. However, I'd still recommend doing a reservation because you can pick your dining experience that way since Ellie Bird certainly has 4 zones of vibe. There is the bar, which has the most attentive service and I actually prefer it on weeknights, but it bumps into the waiting area and they don't really separate the two, so we've had weekend patrons reach between us while dining to order drinks while they wait for a table. The front dining room is buzzy, on theme, and what you probably are expecting if you haven't been here yet, but frequently need a reservation to get seated here. The kitchen counter seating is an interesting experience if you've never done something like that, but each time we've been there, the service has not been as attentative as the other zones. Finally there is the back dining room, which is where you are likely to get seated as a walk-in, especially on a relatively busy night. Don't fret, the food and service are just as good as the front room, but the ambiance is totally different. It feels like a lower tier restaurant back there.”
