“Went to Kitchen +Kocktails for the first time last night. The decor was very nice, and the music was good and not obnoxious. Our server Ally was terrific! I’m not a drinker, so when I asked her if there were any cocktails that didn’t taste like alcohol, I thought she would look at me like I was crazy, but she didn’t! She seemed to know exactly what I was talking about and immediately had a couple of suggestions. I went with the mixed berry lemon drop and it was perfect for me. The crab cake appetizers and shrimp and grits with lobster tail entree were amazing. We had a great time and we’ll be back!“

Being the Southern inspired menu, we opted for the fried green tomato appetizer, panko breaded deviled eggs were an unexpected and unusual offering that was phenomenally delicious. We also enjoyed their cajun pasta to round out the meal. We had courteous service from staff that were friendly, responsive and informative and efficient and fun. Very reasonable priced for quality and quantity of food. Highly recommend.“

One employee in particular by the name of Charlie was quite popular as longtime customers piled in to say hello or catch up while he prepared an array of food items to include the fried foods. Mimi wanted to try the fried chicken breast (she loves chicken) and initially I was told there was a 15 minute wait, a customer ahead of me stated it’s definitely worth the wait as he smiled. So having a free day off, I waited and I am so glad that I did! The chicken breast also has the wing attached and it’s placed piping hot between two slices of “cheap white sliced bread”. I was asked how I would like it so I responded as many others before me did: salt, pepper and hot sauce? When I say that was the most perfectly seasoned, fried and juiciest chicken breast I have ever had (5/5). They are a food stand opened early and closes early only M-F! Last night was our 6th time going. We have yet to have any bites that aren’t phenomenal! It is one of the few DC spots that is truly unique but not stuffy! The entire staff make this place such a fun spot! We will be back for a 7th time!“

“We went to the express one. We didn't know because we are from Mi. They didn't have pancakes there. The waffle was fancy and a little too sweet but it was good. I tasted my sons French toast. It was tasty and I don't eat French toast. They are a little pricey but I would go again. I forgot to take pics but the food looked really good. They have really nice to go food containers too. Definetely keepers.“

“This was a 10 out of 10. We were in for Thanksgiving dinner. We had the turkey entrée. And the braised beef. Which was cut with a fork tender. Everything was beautifully seasoned and tasty. And very generous plates. Plenty to take home for after Thanksgiving leftovers.  This was my first time ever having Thanksgiving in a restaurant. I have to say this was a home run. “Consistent well done soul food. Henry's is my go to place for when I need go bring my own food (think summer outdoor events). The portions are good, the food will leave you satisfied and full. My favs are the fried chicken and when they have them the ribs.“
