Maggie’s Downtown Reviews
We heard about this spot on social media so we thought we would try it out. My husband had the #1 and I had the #10. The subs were delicious and the price was right. We will be back!
Best sandwiches in town !!

Maggie’s Downtown is a charming restaurant located in downtown Fredericksburg, VA, known for its large menu of sandwiches, hot dogs, and soups. The restaurant offers a variety of options, including cold subs, hot sandwiches, paninis, and homemade sodas, making it a popular spot for lunch. The menu features items like a turkey sub, BBQ chicken sandwich, hot dogs with ketchup, and daily soups such as loaded baked potato soup and lobster bisque. Customers often enjoy the friendly and helpful service, with staff members recognized for their cheerful attitude and good suggestions. The atmosphere is welcoming and casual, with inside and outside seating options. The patio area is particularly praised for its beauty, providing a pleasant setting to relax and enjoy a meal.
Food quality receives mixed reviews; the sandwiches are generally delicious, with some noting the smokiness of the BBQ sauce and the pressed, panini style of their sandwiches. However, some dishes like the baked potato soup may be served warm rather than hot, and potatoes can sometimes be rubbery. The restaurant’s house-made sodas have flavor but lack carbonation. The chip selection, especially Route 11 potato chips, is well-liked, and customers often pick up extra bags like Mama Zuma for their spicy, hot flavor.
Overall, Maggie’s Downtown is appreciated for its friendly service, cozy ambiance, and diverse menu, making it a great place for a casual, tasty lunch. Its beautiful outdoor patio and historic decor add to the inviting atmosphere, ensuring many visitors consider it a go-to spot in the area.
