9 Best Cafes near Gainesville

“I ordered two Cortados (forgot to take pics), both were very good. I got one with whole milk and one with almond milk( I always wanted to try, but after tasting I don’t recommend). I definitely suggest staying with the whole milk. Very cool atmosphere and the owners were extremely nice and friendly. They wanted to listen to their customers and see if there was any drinks they could consider adding to the menu. I told them plain sparkling water to have with the cortado and they liked the idea and were going to look into getting some. Not many coffee shops where the owners are so welcoming, friendly and ears open. I recommend stopping in and getting a coffee of your choice, you won’t regret your experience.

Cortado ratings (I try to do with all places I visit):

(only because it didn’t come with a sidecar) but 3 bc it came in the right glass. Lots of places don’t know how to serve a proper cortado.

“Love the service and friendly stuff“

“I’m an Unlimited Sip Club member and love Panera’s coffee — I drink it almost every day. But the cup design really needs improvement. Coffee often drips while drinking, even when the lid is fully secured.

As shown in the photos, it keeps leaking onto my clothes. I don’t have this issue with cups from other coffee shops, so I believe it’s a Panera-specific design problem.

I hope this gets fixed soon — the coffee is great, but the mess isn’t!“

“Brew Birds is an amazing local cafe with fresh and delicious food, great coffee and a rotating selection of beers/ ciders. The staff are very friendly. I don't eat out during the week (only home cooked), so a Brew Birds breakfast burrito is usually the go to treat. I can personally recommend the Roast Beast, the Turkey BLT, the breakfast burrito, and the basic B. This place is my favorite part of the neighborhood!“

“Worst location. I have never been in Panera Bread this dirty before. I visit this chain few times a week all over norther VA, this place was bad…every table was dirty and greasy, filthy bathroom..it was horrible. I felt like getting up and leaving right away. I told one of the employees that tables need to be wiped and he acknowledged the issue. Ten minutes later I saw one of employees running around spraying tables barely wiping them dry. I had to get up and finish the job myself. Panera Bread, this is not up to your standards! Very disappointing. Will avoid this location at all cost.

UPDATE: Gave this location another try and was pleasantly surprised with an improved service and cleanliness of the place so I am updating my review rating. Please keep it up for your customers.“
