The Fishin' Pig - RVA is a popular local spot that offers a lively atmosphere and delicious barbecue fare. The restaurant draws a crowd, with regulars at the bar creating a friendly and welcoming vibe. The setup features a mix of seating options, including high-back booths that provide a bit of privacy.
The menu boasts a variety of tasty options, such as the pulled pork sandwich, which is described as very good and exactly what one would expect from a BBQ-style establishment. The crab cakes and shrimp are also praised as great choices. However, some reviews mention that the Brisket Philly and Mac N cheese lacked flavor, while the hush puppies seemed overcooked.
The staff is known for their attentive service, with managers often checking in on guests to ensure a positive experience. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and energetic, with outdoor seating available when the weather is nice.
Despite some mixed reviews on the food quality, The Fishin' Pig - RVA is generally regarded as a fun and popular local spot, offering a lively environment, friendly service, and a selection of classic barbecue dishes.
