“We went to Houndstooth to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I wished we had been able to also stay at the B&B. The 5-course meal was outstanding, delicious, and filling! The wine pairings and cocktails were also spot on and delicious! We will be coming back again.“

“We went for lunch on a sunny Saturday. All that was available outside was a table without an umbrella, which we took. But when an umbrella table opened up we were switched. Just one example of the superb service. Both the curry chicken and pulled pork were excellent. Best Pommes Frites ever. Beautiful setting. And dog friendly outside!“

“We've always had a nice comfortable, relaxing time at the Front Royal, VA location. Our server, Amy, made our visit particularly pleasant. Cheerful, helpful, and patient. We could not have asked for a better server. At check-out there was an issue with our "Pegs" Rewards and the manager was swift to step in and make it right. While we have visited many locations across the country, some better than others, this one has become our favorite!“

“My first and so far only experience with Element was the Valentines dinner - and I can't stop talking about how good the food was. cooked to perfection and the portions were absolutely perfect sized - left me in awe and not wanting a single course to end but space for the next equally amazing course. we left not feeling overly full, but perfectly satisfied. nothing sat too heavy and I've been talking about this meal for 2 days now. I was especially impressed by the filet. I'm INCREDIBLY sensitive to red meat and usually eat a steak knowing my stomach will make me pay for it later unless it's specifically grass fed and grass finished or sometimes I can do grain finished. I went into the meal assuming I'd have to deal with my issues afterwards. at first bite I didn't care how much I had to pay with my body later, it was WORTH IT and then to my shock - I HAD NO ISSUES. the staff were friendly, and attentive. “Ten of us - the Back Road Romeos (Retired Old Men Eating Out) have gone out for lunch and beer together every month for the past several years. This happy and welcoming spot was our all-time favorite within ten minutes. The meat loaf, with mashed, gravy and peas) was a real crowd pleaser at just $5 on Thursdays. The other patrons quickly became friends. And the staff was friendly, welcoming, efficient and funny beyond our wildest expectations. All around wonderful!“

The staff has always been solid too; some are award-winning mixologists and artists themselves. Catamount brings a real breath of life to the community. “Great beer and some cider options. Super laid back low-key vibe. Bartender (night of 3/12/25) was so nice, funny, and accommodating, and so were the guys in there just having a beer. Fantastic atmosphere, and I have to say THIS WAS THE FIRST VABRISSA...learned that tonight after I had been to the one in Winchester, which is also nice, but yeah, this one's the original.
