This was our second time dining at Salt & Meadow, and it was fantastic both times. The view looking out over the water is lovely. The service is excellent and the staff warm and welcoming. My husband and I shared oysters rockafellar and I had the scallops entree. The seafood was fresh and well prepared. View is amazing. Food is good and menu has a nice variety. Of note, the eggs were brought to the table cold and were returned. Staff could be more attentive. For example, no spoons were brought out with the sorbet so we ate it with forks. We were a party of two and were seated at a 5 top which is fine but the other place settings were not cleared and sat on table throughout the meal. Have been here before and had great food and great service...perhaps the 2pm seating which is the end of a shift caused issues...the other visits were more lunch time or dinner time... very disappointed...could not even get a cup of coffee with lunch
The Chesapeake Restaurant & Terrace offers an outstanding dining experience with a new concept and amazing food. Highlights include delicious duck, rockfish, and some of the best oysters ever tasted. The blackberry arugula salad and fettuccini are also popular choices. The service is consistently excellent, with staff anticipating needs and providing a leisurely, wonderful experience. Customers have enjoyed clams, lamb chops, rockfish, Filet Mignon, lemon tart, and peach crumble. The hospitality is exceptional from beginning to end. The wine list has something for everyone, and the bar is skilled. The restaurant is highly recommended for a getaway, especially in the spring and fall when customers can fully enjoy the outdoor seating and spectacular views of the river. The atmosphere is enhanced by the lovely gift shop and a welcoming front room with a piano, making it a perfect place for special occasions.
