“Came by on a Sunday afternoon with about 20 other people, and it was very quiet (one or two other people in the whole restaurant). I saw the reviews and was excited to try, but my expectations weren't that high.I ordered the grilled chicken sub, which came out pretty quick. This restaurant doesn't have servers, so you just order at the counter and pick it up there too. My food was good, although it didn't look the most appetizing (picture below).Overall, I'm pretty impressed and wouldn't be opposed to coming back if I'm ever in the area again.“

“The boneless wings were delicious BUT the soggy undercooked fries, not so good. This is the third time served this way even though we request crispy and well done EVERY time.“

“The food is always good but it is never right. The last three trips I have taken my sandwich is wrong. it will either be grilled when it was supposed to be spicy or bacon egg and cheese when its supposed to be chicken. Don't get me wrong food is good, people are nice but something will be wrong.“

“We were in Martinsville for shopping, and decided to get food. First off, they open at 4pm on Saturdays, but at 3:50pm the parking lot was already packed, that's a good sign. We decided against another spot and drove back to Captain Tom's. The staff was friendly, our waitress knew the menu backwards and forwards, anticipated our questions, and had answers and menu tweaks ready to make ordering quick. Everything came out at a reasonable time, was all hot and fresh, and most importantly taste amazing. The seafood was fried golden light tan, and not oily or greasy like a lot of places, almost like they actually change out their oil regularly, unlike many other franchise places I've been too. The fish and oysters were crispy, my catfish tacos were great, the side of rice tasted out of this world, and that in-house made cocktail sauce is some of the best I've ever had. I felt like the portion sizes were large for the price, in this day and age, the oysters and calamari would be $3-5 higher at many other places for that many. The side of oysters I got, was the same sizes some places have given me for an entrée, at entrée prices. Overall all we've had many bad experiences locally and remotely, with restaurants in Virginia, since covid. This was the best meal put we've had in years...Thank you.“

“Ole Mercy I have found my new favorite Restaurant!!! On a Sunday drive to Danville and back we stopped in here after a google search of top places to eat in Martinsville and It was Fantastic! I had the Pork Chop with Yams and COLLARD GREENS!!!!! Yes I Screamed Collard Greens!!! While the Pork Chop and Yams was delicious and also the Mac and Cheese was the best I ever had in a restaurant let me tell you bout them COLLARD GREENS!!!! They had to be grown in the Lords garden and prepared in Jesus’s Kitchen by far the best Collard Greens I have ever ate!!!! As we was leaving I meet the Owner and Cook and he was one very Humble man! He was appreciative of our feed back asked us if we tried the ribs I said no ended up I ordered a half rack and brought them home and let me just say those
Ribs was the best fall off the bone ribs and perfectly seasoned with a mild heat and sweet bbq sauce!!!! Guy Fieri and DDD yall better come visit this place!!!“
