“The food is outstanding! All made fresh and so delicious. Family owned and very friendly. The calamari was perfectly cooked and had a beautiful dusting as opposed to a heavily breaded crust. The grilled octopus was tender and flavorful. We’ve sat both outside in the relaxing courtyard and inside the casual restaurant. This restaurant beats the food at Old Town’s Greek restaurants. “Interesting place. The only brewery I've ever been to that doesn't brew beer. They just think it sounds cool to call themselves a brewery, I guess. That being said, the food is good and they have a decent selection of local brews on tap. But it's not a brewery.“

“I almost didn’t walk into Hunan Taste. When I saw pho on the menu, I hesitated. I know pho. I’ve had it done right, and when a Chinese place throws it on the menu, it usually means they’re trying to be everything to everyone.

But I’m glad I went in.

I ordered what I always judge a place by — roast pork and lo mein. If you can’t get that right, nothing else matters. The roast pork was legit. Flavorful, not dried out, not that bland filler meat some of these pop-up spots use. Mix it with the lo mein? That’s a winning combination every time.

Then came the egg roll. Not a spring roll. A real egg roll. Thick wrapper, crispy, hearty filling.

But what sealed it for me was the mustard. Homemade Chinese mustard — the real deal, the kind that clears your sinuses and lets you know someone back there cares.

If you’re in Springfield and you want solid Chinese food, this is a good spot. I’ll be back.“

“Came here for Mother’s Day around 6:30pm. We joined the waitlist prior to coming therefore we only ended up waiting 5 minutes for our table. Our waitress was very friendly but the service wasn’t great. When our blooming onion appetizer came, it was burnt and not much actual onion in it. We had to ask for utensils, extra napkins and drinks. We waited approximately an hour and a half before our food arrived. The salad was forgotten and an order of French fries. I enjoyed the filet and lobster tail, my husband didn’t particularly care for the burger. It definitely looked like a pre-frozen patty.“
