“I went to Candela's for the first time a few days ago and I was pleasantly surprised. The front of the resturant is nothing special but inside was a nice homey atmosphere that was very clean and welcoming. I'm a stickler for clean resturants and everything here was spotless. The food is the real reason for this review. AWESOME FOOD! The Italian bread on the sandwich was so fresh and tasty. I haven't had good Italian bread like that since I lived in NYC years ago. All the ingredients were FRESH unlike these sub places. It tasted so good I was full but kept trying to finish it. The 8" Italian sub was what I ordered and it was delicious. I will definitely be back.“
“Had a coupon for half off a large pizza for carry out I believe. We live right down the street so that was not bad if you're craving some pizza. We ordered a large pan or deep dish pizza ( whatever dominoes calls it) with pepperoni, feta cheese, green peppers, and banana peppers for only $12,50. Not a bad price for dinner for two! It was satisfying and delicious. Love that they have feta cheese! Pizza was on time as promised and service was good when picking up the pizza!“
“Awesome cheese steak hoagie! Fresh cut fries as well, just make the meal amazing! The top of the bun was a little chewy which I wasn't sure if I liked, but with every bite it just got better and better! $12 for a 6inch steak sandwich, fries, and a soda! Awesome price for the quality and taste! I will be back next visit! Thanks for the great food!“
“First time here while in town visiting a friend for weekend and it’s safe to say, I’ll definitely come back!! The Caprese was absolutely delicious with the Buffalo mozzarella as the star and the Braised Beef tacos with the Roasted Beets were divine!“
“Came for dinner while visiting the city. Place was super busy, but the staff was very attentive and all of our food came out fast, hot, and was incredibly delicious. Seriously, I don't think I've had pizza this good in a long time. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!“
“It is so easy for me to stop by here on my way home from work so I tend to do it all the time. We like the chicken as well as the grab and go offerings. I am especially fond of their chicken salad, white house rolls and chicken cobbler. I will also pick up baked goods from there when it is my turn to bring in goodies for our morning team meetings. You can even get a beautiful cake on demand!“
“This was my cousin and my first time here and everything from entering the building to the ease of ordering was spectacular! We did have some recommendation’s from Chef Kristi on some wine pairings and they did not disappoint! We tried the GRECHETTO, which is a white wine and for my girlies and guys who love Sauvignon blanc or Pinot Grigio, you will love this!! We also tried the PINOT NERO and this was a hit!! I’m a red wine drinker and this was so smooth and full of flavor! We had the fried homemade mozzarella and the Parmesan risotto fries to start (thanks Chef) and they were perfect!! I ordered the Pappardelle with Sausage Ragu and instead of the salad I had the Pancetta and onion soup! The consistency, the flavor, the temperature of the soup, all perfect! The pasta was so fresh, the sausage had an amazing taste and the sauce was perfect! My cousin ordered the chicken Alfredo Alfredo and the chicken was seasoned perfectly!! The sauce to pasta ratio was spot on!! For dessert we had the limoncello marscapone cake and yall… the freshest, most moist slice of cake I’ve ever had! The flavor of the lemon was not too overpowering and it did not stand a chance on that table! 10/10 recommend!!“
“Great pizza. I balked a bit at the price of a slice but one slice is basically two because they are huge. I was pleasantly surprised by the crust because I don't normally like a thicker crust but this crust wasn't soggy or puffy. 10/10 would recommend and I'll be going as often as I can.“
“The chicken bacon cheddar ranch calzone was a culinary home run, while the chicken cheesesteak played it safe on second base. The true curveball, though, was the sandwich's presentation—a veritable Jackson Pollock in a hoagie roll. It was such a hot mess, I didn't even clock that they subbed in chicken for the steak I ordered until the whole thing started to disintegrate. I'm willing to step up to the plate again, though. Next time, I'll either skip the cheez whiz or actually verify what's buried beneath that cheesy, topping-laden mound!“
“I found this little place by accident and I have never been happier about an accident in my life. Mike is so relaxed and easy going he makes this place comfortable even if you're indecisive. I could say all the things others have said about the food but I will save that for the next. The cheese!!!!! I'm a cheese head by blood and Mike has the best cheese and he knows it!!! It's flavor packed unlike that fake tasteless paper flavored cheese product chains put on their pies. The salads and other side items are fresh and generously portioned. I live across town and don't mind the drive to pick up one little bit because it is worth every penny♥️♥️♥️♥️?Thanks Sparrows for making the best, hands down, pie in the city!“
“This was my first time going here. The food and service was great. The environment was nice waterfront dining. There are boat docks and piers and a river side burm that people were able to fish from. The parking was easy and plentiful however I have heard in the peak season during the nice weather it gets very crowded so parking may be more of a challenge and possibly a wait to get in. They do have a waiting area with firepits and drink service which is a nice feature. I have also heard they have live music during the peak season. I checked the website and they have a good line up of live music coming this spring and summer. I am looking forward to going back during peak season to enjoy the waterside atmosphere with live music. I think this may be my new favorite go to place for the spring and summer. The food was great, they have good appetizers and personal pizza choices also like a Greek and Italian style and they had good beer choices and drink options. IPA’s like Stones and Falcon Smash and a Blackberry cider. There were lots of other food choices on the menu also. I recommend you try this place for the atmosphere, the drinks and the food.“
“Ok . I am a New Yorker. It is in my blood - we think we know more about pizza than anyone. An unbearable burden to carry.:) None the less my wife and I made our way to pizza bones . Very nice local neighborhood spot has kind of an outdoor theme however you can down inside but it’s limited. Staff is super friendly. Placed an order for garlic bread and a pizza for my wife and I to share half pepperoni service recently, considering the only two people on shift first let me say that cheesy bread were extremely good garlic, super cheesy crust very tasty. The pizza was excellent love the crust fresh tomatoes, Gucci gooey cheese. I think this pizza is better than Xorge or Cary Street and that’s a hard crowd to beat you go $14 for a midsize prize not a bad price serves to make sure you get the cheesy bread.“
“I have not been in the Richmond area long, but Zombie Pizza has already proven to be a fantastic discovery. Run by very pleasant people, and they make some "killer" 'za.I've tried a regular pepperoni pie here, and also the philly steak pizza. Both great. But the Sicilian pie is where it's at. After first trying the Sicilian, I have been back multiple times to get more. This thicker pie really hit the spot for what I was looking for in terms of texture and flavor. Just awesome. Go check 'em out.Carry out only, and the parking is not the best, but it works for zipping in, grabbing and going“
“we had a great time. the food , especially the appetizers was great. Bruce our host was really great and helped out with whatever we needed. we had a toddler and no issues with the bumpers or anything. No complaints at all. Great experience.“
“Mellow Mushroom may be my favorite pizza of all time! Patrons will be greeted by an eclectic and vibrant interior, not to mention the friendly and welcoming staff. The menu is full of options, but the star of the show is the Holy Shiitake pizza. Every time I come with a large enough group, we order something else as well as the Holy Shiitake, but I always regret not just ordering only the Holy Shiitake. It's unlike any other pizza I've had before, and one to remember! If you find yourself in Carytown for one meal, I would highly recommend this one!“
“My go to place for NY style pizza (and I grew up in NYC). Great neighborhood atmosphere, a seasoned staff who actually talk to you and are interesting, and a cozy, non-pretentious atmosphere, just like in the old neighborhood in NYC. The pizza is just right... thin crust, lots of mozzarella, light sauce. Get the pie, not the re-heated slice.“
“It was a very nice, friendly and respectful restaurant. This was my first time. The food was awesome, drinks nice and servers were very attentive. I with my family will return. Of course, with that large group I will make reservations. Their repeat customers have their tables checked out. LOL. I will rate all the dishes as I eat them but my first Moussaka was excellent.“
“Imagine succulent salmon fillets grilled to perfection, infused with the tangy zest of lemon butter that tantalizes your taste buds with each bite. The richness of the buttery sauce complements the delicate salmon, creating a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate. As you savor each morsel, the burst of briny capers adds a delightful contrast, enhancing the overall depth of the dish.Accompanying the salmon are plump, tender mussels bathed in a luxurious garlic butter sauce. With every spoonful, the aroma of garlic fills the air, inviting you to indulge in its savory essence. The velvety texture of the butter coats each mussel, amplifying their natural sweetness and creating a harmonious blend of flavors.Together, the lemon butter grilled salmon and butter garlic mussels create a culinary masterpiece that is both comforting and exquisite, leaving you craving for more with every unforgettable bite. That is my experience though ?“
“Always a consistently good pizza. I get precisely what I order. The parking lot is a fender bender waiting to happen. The lane between the two sides of parking is narrow, visibility is restricted, and some people use the exit to enter and screw things up for everyone. Choose parking carefully.“
“This restaurant has never let me down. I was ordering from them off of a delivery app but I finally decided to save myself some money and visit them in person. The staff was super friendly and the food was really good. I recommend the sausage neapoletana it has been my go to. Highly recommended!“
“Eating pizza, listening to the good ole Grateful Dead, couldnt be better IMO. It had been a really long time since Ive been to Bottoms Up and I was not disappointed in the least. Pizza was soooo dang good, I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner the next day!“
“I had the linguine and white clam sauce. It was really good. For desert, I had a cannoli that was really good too.Vegetarian options: Many options of vegetable dishes and other dishes with no meat or fish.Kid-friendliness: Many dishes children would like and many families with children.“
“It's absolutely the best Pizza and best place to enjoy real Appiza! The owners are always there working!!? That's always a Plus and they're from Sicily/ Italy. Who better to create Good whoops Great sauce than a native Italian? There's a relaxing feeling there. You may sit at a table and enjoy its pizza or lasagna or any one of their many Italian dishes created their. The prices are reasonable, service excellent and the food is above average... Delicious!!!! I consider myself a Pizza or Appiza expert because I am from Connecticut the home of Pizza! Frank Pepe came up with the idea ? using a cookie sheet, mozzarella and good sauceHe created a pizza ?!!! They also have a Chicago style if you prefer it and it's great“
“Everything was supergreat, superfresh, superdelicious ! I visited Lebanese Bakery & Shwarma twice this week.. Under new ownership for a few months , and I very much hope they " make a go of it" , because I could eat their food forever.“
“This place was good! I’d order here again. It’s been recommended by friends before and we finally tried it for the game. The sauce really stands out. It’s sweet and savory, definitely a good balance of sugar&salt added with good seasonings too. It made the cheese sticks stand out and the pizza really balanced well.100% mozzarella vs other mozz/jack mixes stood out, great flavor. Good cook and stability in the crust. All around solid place.“
“Pretty good pizza in freaking giant slices. Unlike most giant slice places these dont suck. I got just olives on my slice. Guy asked kalamata or green? Seriously. The one major shortcoming is that they have shakers for oregano and garlic powder but no parmesan. Unless there is some secret insider method for obtaining a cheese shaker by turning the second wall sconce counterclockwise. They have a lot of interesting pies, but I found the menu hard to read so I just asked them what they have. This is on me though, I have bifocals, and the menu is on the front of the counter. So you have to look down to read it, snd that angle is awful on bifocals. Especially when handwritten. Will go back.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options. I didnt see any vegan pies though, but to be fair I didnt read the entire menu because its hard to read.“
“La Cucina in Midlothian, VA is a hidden gem! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff create a welcoming experience. The menu offers a delightful variety of Italian dishes that are made with the freshest ingredients. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the flavorful sauces, each bite is a true delight. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied. Don't forget to save room for dessert! The tiramisu is simply divine. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a family gathering, La Cucina is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!“
“I would have given this place 5 stars but due to recent changes I couldn't do it. They stopped taking reservations, then you had to have half your party there if you want to get a table. I get that it's busy on Tuesday but these new changes are aggravating and mostly annoying. The staff are great and provide excellent service. Hopefully they revert back.“
“Amazing food with great vegan options. Not vegan but thought that was pretty cool. Had the Everybody Wants Some and was blown away. Wings, Spaghetti and Pizza all amazing. Made to order, good portion sizes and even better prices. Will be coming back.“
“Overall this is a nice spot for a quick meal. The dinning area has limited seating and parking isn't that great, however I assume most of the patrons are people from the community. My friends and I all had a different style of Pizza. They seem to run out of the Grandma style crust very fast. I'd recommend if you're looking for something good for take out.“
“We went there last night for our Wedding Anniversary and had a wonderful evening. Great atmosphere and our waitress. Addison was so nice and attentive. We will ask to be seated with her when we return to try more of the extensive menu. The presentation of each dish was impressive. Our was food was beyond delicious and we cleaned her plates off for sure. I highly recommend this location for any event or any day.!!“
“This Chuck E Cheese used to have a retro feel with the stage and several mascots that my kids used to love playing with. They rebuilt and redesigned the entire layout. Some things are nicer, but they got rid of the stage and a couple of arcade games that tuned in with the ol' good times. The place does have a cleaner feel, but now the Chuck E Cheese presentations are on a giant projected screen and I believe that's less personable, like if kids didn't have enough screens as it is. The mascot does come by and dances with the kids, so that didn't change. The food is okay, but the salad bar prices definitely went up, now costing $12/person to eat at the salad bar when it used to be less than 10 2 years ago.“
“We are new to the area, and so far we've only gotten take out pizza orders and they have been great so far. Hopefully when we get our bearings down a little bit we'll have a nice night out. The atmosphere inside is very nice and it smells so good in there. Every time I've come to pick up my food it's been busy, but not too busy to help you get your order on time, which is a good sign.Glad this place is literally like 2 minutes from our home.“
“I ordered the chicken parmigiana entree with the garlic knots side and the portions were fantastic! I loved their marinara sauce ❤️ the entree was excellent. The garlic knots weren't as soft as I thought they would be but they still had excellent flavor.“
“Joe legit makes the best pizza in Richmond. I drive from the West End to get it because no where else I've tried comes close. His pizza reminds me of my favorite NYC slices that hold a fondness in my heart. He, himself, is a wonderful person who always makes you feel appreciated.“
“This is a cozy "pizza place" with lots of other food options like Italian dishes, pasta, American food. The pizza options are pretty much unlimited, and everything tasted great! The staff is very friendly and accommodating.Wheelchair accessibility: I am handicapped but I elected to use my cane this time. I would be completely comfortable using my wheelchair next visit.“
“The pizza is beyond delicious! Thin, soft and chewy crust. The mozzarella balls and meatballs appetizers are so delicious! I crave this food! The guys that work there are always nice and friendly! My favorite pizza from RVA to Tidewater!Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options!“
“Nummmm nummm nummm. Consistently good but beware, causes serious cravings. I loooooove the spaghetti with meat sauce, it's more of that Tuscan flavor than a tomato base and is enough for two sittings. The prosciutto, mozza, arugula hero is perfect if you are in the mood for a light summer meal.“
“This place is everything you want in a dive bar, any of the bad reviews come from people who have been tossed out of the place for acting up . It’s a 4.7 out of 5. Only real problem is probably the location and you could easily argue that’s one of the benefits to the joint ! great staff , great owner and overall its a great place to meet people !“
“Searched Yelp for a place to do a quick pick up and stumbled across this. So glad I did. I called in my order and was told 10 mins. I received a text message saying it was ready on time!! There are no tables to eat in so I grabbed my pizza and took a bite in the car. Normally I'm not a fan of canned mushrooms but the flavor of all the other toppings made that a minor thing for me. The young lady at the front was very polite and made sure I had all I needed before I left.“
“My wife grew up not too far from here, and when she was a kid, she said they came to Sal's all the time. Although not sure when but she said that they have definitely changed ownership since she's been here last. She really wanted one of their cheese pizzas. Even though it wasn't as she remembered and a little different, she said that it was still pretty good. She said that the sauce is a tad sweeter now than what it used to be. I thought their veal parmesan was excellent! I don't know why, but my daughter ended up ordering their chicken noodle soup, but she didn't care for it very much. She did enjoy the mozzarella sticks, though. Service was pretty good, and it definitely has a mom and pop feel to it, and it looks like they have a new bar area that seems to be the new in fashion glowing lights and such. They have quite a few specials that are going on. Very solid pizza place.“
“Very much New York pizza shop vibe AND PIZZA at JoJo's. I really like the store that opened closer to home in Midlothian, but this downtown spot is spot-on with the crust and toppings. If you need oregano, ask at the counter. Anchovies available!“
“I've been here two times and both were really fun. The bartender and other staff are friendly, funny, and helpful. On New Years they gave out complimentary champagne at midnight. The drinks are cheaper than most places. The pool table is coin operated and they have darts. The food is what you would expect from a dive bar and is extremely affordable. I plan on taking a lot of my friends here.“
“The vegan pizza at 8 1/2 is so unique and I absolutely love it. The dough is both soft and crunchy, the broccolini is chopped up making each slice easy to bite into and there's even a little kick! I usually call in for pick up and they make the food quickly. The shop itself is super cute and has a bunch of authentic Italian products for sale!“
“I ordered the special, a small sub, fries and drink for 10 dollars! It was amazing and so delicious!! The hospitality was also amazing which honestly made the food taste so much better! My friend ordered a slice of cheese pizza and it came out hot and fresh like the rest of the food. Overall very awesome and will be attending this place regularly 20/10“
“I actually had a good experience here yesterday. The staff were exceptionally kind and courteous. The food was generally fresh and tasty. I have in the past had not-so-great experiences here but I'm hoping that they continue on this trajectory they're on now.Vegetarian options: Any pizza that doesn't contain meat is supposedly vegetarian. For a vegan, you might be able to find something on the salad bar (idk about their dressing)“
“I love the pizza here and when we have friends over Pinos is always the first choice for pizza. The pizza is excellent and a good value, but we only get takeout. There really isn’t a great reason to come here to eat. It would be nice if they upgraded the TVs and showed sports instead of Fox News. ? The interior is pretty mediocre. The subs are also good, I would pass on most of the red sauce dishes though. Pizza and subs is what they do best here.We are regulars and will continue to be, and we wish the folks here all the best. Lean into what they do well here.“
“I cannot give this place enough ⭐'s!!! AMAZING Service! AMAZING food (I had the pizza)! AMAZING Dart boards and atmosphere! The only thing I could see others not liking is they allow smoking after 6pm. But honestly they are equipped with enough ventilation to keep it from lingering in the air. This is my first time visiting and I WILL be a repeat customer. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area. Everyone I met was very nice and helpful.“
“I've been coming here for years always make you feel like family....Food is always on pointVegetarian options: Not a vegetarian but it's Italian Pizza greatDietary restrictions: They fix it the way you want itParking: Plenty roomKid-friendliness: GreatWheelchair accessibility: Great“
“I ordered a calzone with sausage, chicken, mushrooms, onions, garlic, roasted red peppers, jalapeños, feta and ricotta cheeseWith a 10pc buffalo wings plate. I will say I have never eaten a calzone where the dough was nice and fluffy with every bite. I find myself forgetting to respect food- because I just eat to eat. Man listen, first bite- second bite, I’m like who in theeeee helllllll made this piece of heaven?! THAT SHIZZLE was so flippin ahhhmazing, I had to drive 31 mins and have her try it too.- she’s a calzone person like me. Pizza is still cool- but a damn fricken good calzone can make a man check himself about knowing where to go when you need some bomb food. Thank you Cabrerras, much appreciated! I haven’t even tried the wings yet, I’m pretty sure I won’t be disappointed ?“
