I moved to Churchland from Virginia Beach and decided to bring my family to somewhere close to where I now live and let me tell you. It exceeded my expectations. The service is amazing, the atmosphere is calming and the food is some of the best I've had in years. If you ever come by here, I highly recommend their hush puppies as the appetizer; some of the best I've honestly ever had. Very friendly and attentive staff - the food was prepared very well. Particularly the fried chicken, fried flounder, fried whiting, sweet potato casserole, Mac and cheese and potato salad. Green beans and collards were a little over cooked for my liking and more sweet than your typical southern vegetable. The only point of criticism would be the wait time for food to come. Today my family dined at this restaurant after Church service. I must say that we absolutely loved this restaurant. The servers were very friendly and eager to help you in any way possible and answer any and every question you may have.
