“I love this secret spot in Portsmouth!! If you are looking for a local business owner to support, this one is it!! The servers are nice and pleasant! Even though they are a brunch spot that closes at 3pm on Sunday's (wish it was 5pm for the after church crew), they treat you with respect and provide you with fresh food even at 230pm! They made my daughter's 18th birthday brunch a great experience! My 10 yr old gave them a 10 out of 10! Clean and classy environment too!! It's five stars for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“I've been eating here since 2018. The food is awesome and they load the plates up, it's cheap and the service is pretty good. The cooks push out food really fast and the quality isn't affected by that. Also, if there's not a table open, they hurry up to clear a table for you. When you're done, you pay at the counter and go about your day. 10/10 best little breakfast place I've found in the Hampton Roads area.“

“Customer service was not friendly at all. When making my order the cashier was multi tasking and didn't put my order in as I asked. When I took the food back I was called a liar on putting in my order and was told that they weren't going to refund my money. SMHRH, that upset me that I was called a liar and I know how I like my food and how I ordered it. But, she was busy moving around ect but she honestly didn't put my order in correctly and to be called a liar was unacceptable. If you're writing down things and putting in orders walking away from me and you say you have my order right but then don't why I'm being called a liar and it was simply a misunderstanding lack of communication she told her boss that she gave me eye contact when ordering my food but simply not because you were writing ect. I'm just saying I don't like my hash browns fried hard or my toast almost burnt so why wouldn't I specify on how I want my food cooked?The manager really showed no professionalism, stated that she was not refunding me because the food looked good to her. I explained to her that I work hard fory money and if I'm going to purchase anything I want what I asked for. She told me that she was in the business to make money not lose it and I explained to her that I'm not going to pay for something that I don't want because that's wasn't how I ordered my food. I told her that the young lady was multi tasking and she clearly didn't get my order right and the young lady loudly said again why are you lying right now??? Why do I have to lie??? I had got to work and had to leave and go back because my order wasn't right. If it had been a mistake on my end why go all the way back???? People please from my experience if you see that someone is multi tasking when you're ordering your food let them complete what they're doing no matter if the say go ahead I got you wait then order with eye contact and have them to repeat it back to you because this is just tewwwww much. They asked for a receipt and I let them know that she did not give me one they asked her where was the receipt she threw my receipt in the trash but kept the cash register so that's how they were able to refund me my money.“

“I have eaten at Fish & Slips twice now. A friend at work recommended this place and I'm glad he did. I've tried the Blackened Tuna dinner and the Flounder Tacos. Both were delicious! The ambience of the restaurant is what you would hope for in a good seafood restaurant; located on the water with beautiful views of the harbor/boats, wood paneling and decor that gives you the feel of being in a seaside fishing community, not a snooty upscale restaurant. I can't wait to return and try their fish and chips!“

“Went for a friend's birthday and it was my first time going to a bar. All the workers were extremely helpful and came over multiple times to refill water or to ask if I needed anything. At one point I walked around trying to find somewhere to make a quick call but was too nervous to ask anyone for help — one of the workers (not sure his name) came up to me and asked if I was looking for something and directed me to a quiet place.Atmosphere was welcoming and fun. Drinks and food were tasty. Great little place!!“
“My husband and I went to Admiral's to celebrate our 38th anniversary.Everyone from the host at the front door who took our reservation to all the servers who waited on us were very friendly and accommodating.Big shout out to Shannon our main server she was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and patiently answered all of our questions, which was a lot, since it was our first time eating there.The ambience is so inviting and beautiful, it is the perfect place for celebrating any occasion.Now for the food!Everything we ordered was delicious, seasoned to perfection, hot, and came out in a timely manner which I love!Loved their complimentary assorted bread basket with 3 different spreads. Our favorite bread was the jalapeno cheddar cheese called the "innocent bystander" and the maple butter spread. They were so good hubby ordered a basket of just those to take home. The first bread basket is free, but you pay for the next one, which we didn't mind because they were just that good! ?For appetizers I had the table side caesar salad, so delicious hubby had the lollipop lamb chops.For our entrees I had the lollipop lamb chops (oh my goodness)!! beer battered onion rings (the best I've ever had), and sweet potato praline,It tasted just like my sweet potato souffle, absolutely delicious!Hubby had the entree sized lamb chops, crab cake, and lobster mac&cheese. We got a hookah for about $30 & the dj was on point as well.. Our waitress came out several times just to check on us as well as others repeatedly. “We were over on Portsmouth over the weekend and we decided to have lunch at Barton's Pub & Restaurant. They are conveniently located at 500 High Street in the heart of downtown Portsmouth. Barron's Pub has been around for many years, but this was my first visit. On select occasions they offer live music from some of the local talent in the area. When we arrived they were not busy and we were able to score 2 seats at the bar, our favorite perch. The bartender was handling the group seated at the bar efficiently. Our drink order came out quickly. My Wife really enjoyed her Old Fashioned. They have a decent menu with a good variety of options. My Wife had the French Dip Sandwich served with Hand Cut French Fries. She enjoyed it very much. The Roast Beef was tender and delicious. The Fries were crispy outside but meaty on the inside, a wonderful combination when you can find it. I had a Grilled Pastrami Reuben and I really enjoyed it. It was both hot and delicious. I was very surprised to find a bottle of 12 Year Old Pappy Van Winkle on the shelf. This is my Unicorn, even though I don't drink anymore. I asked how much for a pour and I was pleasantly surprised. My Wife wanted to try it so she asked for a pour. They were kind enough to let her take a picture with the bottle. I'm not sure what the rules are, so I will not reveal the price here. We really enjoyed our first visit to Barron's Pub and we are already looking forward to our next visit.“
“Wow, so glad I found them on Google maps. I was only 4 blocks away coming from doctors office. The gentleman up front (Randy) was awesome, and the burger I got literally melted in my mouth!! I got the Empire burger, which also has filet mignon on it. Mercy, you gotta get it!“
