“This place is a hidden gem and has come a long way since my first visit. You can definitely see the difference with the new team—they genuinely care, and it shows in the service and overall experience. The food is really good; some of my favorites are the Bold & Tangy Burger, Bourbon Street Pasta, and the Roast Beef Cheddar Melt. Shout out to the owners as well—I’ve seen them step in and help when needed, which says a lot. Overall, I highly recommend this place.“

“My husband & I have been traveling to Elizabeth city mon-fri for 13weeks for work. We have eaten at City grille every single week we have been down there. We have loved most of the food we have tried. Some of my favorites would have to be the Ham, turkey, bacon club sandwich , the city grille burger, the slaw, fried okra & Mac n chz & the carrot cake is the best I've ever had. My husband doesn't even like carrot cake & he loves it. We usually do take out but the staff has been absolutely amazing. So nice, thoughtful, & accommodating.“

“This is the very best IHOP we have been to in many years. We were so impressed with the food and service. We couldn't believe that this was an IHOP since they were known for terrible service. We had to go back for breakfast to make sure that this IHOP was for real. We suggest that IHOP corporate use this location in Elizabeth City, NC as an example of how an IHOP should be operated.
