“What a find! We were out for a Sunday drive, looking for someplace for lunch after passing South of the Border. Saw the sign, Goggled for directions, and were so pleasantly surprised. Warm and welcoming staff, real home-cooked fare, generous portions and very reasonably priced. We will be back! Be sure to meet Chef!“
“Barry and Donna are amazing people. They genuinely care about people. Barry's Crab Soup is one of the best kept secrets around. They create a contagious culture of caring individuals with whoever they are around. Love being around them. They give to so many charities and the community. They are always willing to help out those around them and know how to have fun. Give their restaurant and hotel a try. You won't regret it. Come stay at Barry's!“
“Everything you're looking for in a diner and priced less than you expect. Angie provided outstanding service while I gawked at the signed music memorabilia and savored each night of the perfectly prepared country fries steak and eggs. Plenty of parking for my tour bus as well! Skip the fast food and don't miss this gem!Parking: RV and Camper Parking in rear“
“Tl;Dr: The best restaurant in Duck. That’s it. Nothing else comes closeThis restaurant does not only just produce tremendous food, but they do it consistently. I am writing this review after visiting the paper canoe for the 3rd time. I have ordered different menu items, while my partner has only ordered the scallops as “they have the best scallops I’ve ever had in my life”. She has gone so far as to stop ordering scallops elsewhere as The Paper Canoe has ruined all other scallops for her, as they are just so good. The paper canoe is one of the, if not the best restaurant we have dined at. The atmosphere is top tier, and if you book your reservations the right time, you’ll be able to watch the sun set while you dine. The beauty of nature, mixed with the pure culinary skill of the chef, and the professionalism of the staff make this so much more than a restaurant, it’s an experience.I can not recommend The Paper Canoe enough. 15/10And attached are photos of the scallop entree, the cast iron shrimp and grits, and the sweet and sour lemonade w/ edible straw“
“BEST PORK CHOP EVER. So what if I order a pork chop at ever restaurant that boasts one. I expect pork perfection - and The Blue Point achieved it. Pork excellence! This chop was beyond good. It had this crust with a bacon essence that just made me laugh it was so good. And the bread pudding had the perfect savoriness. Oh my word! It’s a must try! My hubs got the crab cakes - also VERY GOOD. But the night belonged to Porky-God rest his soul. He was VERY good.“
“Been coming to Corolla for 30 years, tried Northern Lights for the first time today and it instantly is on my list to return every time I come back. The staff was extremely welcoming offering each of my kids a small treat for walking in with me. They were patient yet efficient and the food and coffee is delicious. Can’t wait to come back in July.“
“This place is out of this world! First‐ our server, Luke, was top notch. He was kind, helpful, and friendly. We ordered the the Chef special which is a sampling of a majority of their their menu. 7ish items. I am from the mountains and not a big seafood fan but we scarfed everything in front of us. All the food was seasoned to perfection. Lastly, the beignets as dessert were delicious! As a vacationer, I would come back to OBX just for this restaurant.“
“Delicious and creative menu and super friendly and attentive service. I love how the entire service team monitored every table for removing dishes, refilling water, adding another order, and at the same time our own waiter was knowledgeable about the the offerings and made excellent suggestions. New Years Eve can really strain a restaurant and Aqua completely rose to the challenge, feeling festive but not loud rushed or crowded. We will be back!“
“Me and my husband came in from out of town and were looking for a spot to get a drink and some quick grub. If you been to the outerbanks prior then you are aware that all places usually close the kitchen by like 8 pm, especially around this time of the year. We came to Ike’s around 10 pm and even though the kitchen was closed they surprised us and made fries, wings and mozzarella sticks. Let me say the at food was plentiful and tasted great. The margaritas were on point and every one was so friendly and welcoming. Music was also jamming. We will be back and glad we came in. Thanks for the hospitality everyone.“
“Had a great night at Mama Easley's. It was 8-9 years ago that I last stopped in. I had one of the best fish tacos I've ever had. We were back again and I was hoping it was still open. Thank God it was, and it's been thriving. Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, but the hospitality was over the top! It was busy, we had a five minute wait by the water out back and promptly were seated. I was craving for clam strips, they didn't disappoint and the wife had blackened shrimp. I really love calamari, so I made a last minute decision to have those as well and the Siti of the day. All outstanding!“
“I don’t leave a review unless I am thoroughly impressed or unhappy - this place is the former for sure!!! EXCELLENT food, great beers, fabulous service!! Even in the offseason! The crab cake beet and spinach salad was amazing, as was the shrimp street tacos! We plan to come here every time we are up on Carolla!“
“I had such an amazing dinner at Bernie's brother, I ate the Brazilian steak carnival and it was absolutely magical it exploded in my mouth with flavor. The service was perfect quick to get food cooked as-well. Would recommend going and then after you go I recommend going again.Parking: Good spots“
“The food was absolutely fantastic! A lady working at the Hampton Inn suggested the Urban Kitchen and said that of all the places to eat on the Outer Banks this was her favorite. She showed us a listing of all the restaurants and this is the one we picked after asking multiple questions. She did not steer us wrong. Go try it. You won’t break the bank either!“
“Very nice restaurant with lovely views of the sound, stellar kitchen and attentive, friendly service. Great local beers on tap and good wine list. I've never had any food here that wasn't great, even a simple salad or a burger. A go-to for dining in Duck, be it casual or special occasion.“
“We ate here on Friday Oct. 20. Bartender was super friendly. Highly recommend the clam chowder, best we've ever had. I had the Grouper special and it great. My wife had the Tuna, was super pleased, cooked perfect and not many places get it right. They did. Chef was great to talk to. She explained a lot as we sat at the bar waiting for our food. Backyard bar was our kind of place. The band had to cancel because of rain but It would have been a great place to see one. Will go back next time we are in Duck. Thanks for a great experience.“
“I think we went during their last day of service this season but it was really good. The best choice around. The service was really good, they helped us out in everything we needed and we had great time there.Truly recommended to visit them ?“
“We visited twice during our October week in Duck! Both times the food was wonderful and Jack our waiter was very attentive. We would definitely recommend and will be visiting again next year. Just to bad we can't move the building across the street totally blocks the sunset on the sound.“
“Great hidden spot along the main road toward OBX! (Turn at the Hardee's/Royal Farms and keep on goin' to the end of the road.) It's definitely a local divey hideaway, with tons of cool and eclectic rural backwoods decor. GREAT FOOD. The boom boom shrimp sauce was really good, and the mushrooms had an unusual-looking, yet fantastic, coating and fry! Huge portion of those huge shrooms, as the photo shows. The 1 lb. portion of Steamed Shrimp was also huge! I guess I didn't realize how large the shrimp would be, and there are 15-20 in that bucket. They DO go very heavy on the Old Bay! I turned over the top shrimp so it wouldn't be so visible in the photo. Our awesome server Karen told us it would be that way, and next time I'll ask for light-to-no seasoning, because it really was very heavy (and therefore, salty). But still excellent! I never leave seafood on the plate, but there was just too much for me to finish. Google before you visit, because I understand the hours can vary. But worth the trip if you're looking for downhome rural waterside! Hubby and stepson have already been back several times on their Harleys, both for lunch and dinner. They love the hometown "Cheers" feel of the bar.“
