“Been trying to get here for ages! Scored 2 seats at the bar and had a thoroughly wonderful time. 4 appetizers later we give it 4 thumbs up! Lovely wine list and our brilliant bartender concocted me a custom cocktail when I confessed an aversion to a specific ingredient.
Was delighted to see so many people greeted by name around us. Had the feel of a locals favorite for sure. Love living in Gloucester but Circa 1918 was a delightful sojourn!
PS we scored a curbside spot out front as a cherry on top.

“My girlfriends and I tried their dining experience yesterday and we were not disappointed at all. Our server, Cat, was amazing! We started with some drinks, which she made and OMG the Belle Isle, which has Lavender Moonshine in it, is now one of my favorite drinks! 🍹 We had the fried oysters and crab dip appetizers. The oysters were so fresh and was battered and fried perfectly, I must say. The crab dip with pita bread was so delicious! We all said we could have eaten that and would have been completely satisfied. We all ordered the same entree, the Cobb Salad, with ranch dressing. Everything was so fresh! To top everything off, we visited The Market, which is their pastry/bakery shop. I purchased the HoHo cupcake, a lemon zinger cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. I’ve eaten some of the lemon zinger and it is delicious! The General Manager was very nice and shared with us the history of this wonderful establishment. This is a place where you can take your family, have a nice day or night date, they have space for a private party or if you just want to have a nice meal at the bar. I am definitely returning. Five ⭐️ for me all day long. 😁 p.s their bathrooms are very clean and each bathroom have their own unique styles 🤭 THANK YOU @Mac Specialz for recommending this place!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾“

“Listen these guys from Philly are down here making a way and wave for themselves!! I loved the food, 15 minute wait, the customer service during the wait was excellent, we were comped some Mango Philly water(IFYKYK)! “If I could fine a 6 Star review I would! What an awesome evening. Started off with drinks upstairs, and moved down when our table for 12 was ready. With a large group one would expect that service would be slow, but Leslie D was super! So great that I HAD to speak to the manager to tell him how awesome she was! Ask for her when you come, and you will not be disappointed! We were all very much satisfied! I enjoyed the roasted oysters (four orders for the table) and the Fish and Chips. The Old Fashioned(s) were awesome, as were the Key Lime Crushes and the Lemon Drop Martinis. We celebrated my wife's birthday with all the family. We even had a visit at the table from a young man we had not seen since we lived in Bena over 39 years ago! Great place. We have been here several times preciously and will return. Thank you Leslie for such great service.“

“Wow. This place gets 5 YUMS from us! Looks like we missed National Sandwich Day, but we finally got the chance to try out McAlister’s and it did not disappoint! It did take a little while to decide what to get because their menu is so (beautifully) varied! I ended up getting the 1/2 salad (Pecanberry) and 1/2 sandwich (Harvest Chicken Salad). The price was very good, especially as I was so surprised at the portion given of both! -My sandwich was served on a croissant… a WHOLE croissant! The croissant was toasted just right, making it slightly crispy but not burnt. The salad and the dressing served with the salad were fabulous, as well. Until this meal, I had 2 favorite places to get green salads and one favorite place to get Chicken Salad. Now I have ONE favorite place to get both: McAlister’s. No joke. Plus, customer service there rocks! My husband and I are looking very forward to our next visit and asked for a take-out menu so it doesn’t take us so long to order next time! 😆“

“Interesting menu items. The bathroom is a little different. I stop off here infrequently on my way to training or if I have other business in the area. The family has great service skills and are efficient owrking large crowds during lunch.“

“The owners are super nice. Our food is always hot and delicious. I always get two pork chop sandwiches with tomato lettuce and onions with French fries and two egg rolls. I may even drink a beer while we are there. It's a chill place to go and shoot pool and listen to some good music and laugh with friends.“

However, I will say that the server with the black hair is one of the most unpleasant individuals I’ve ever encountered. She’s always working on Thursdays (open mic nights). You would think that I rejected her back in high school or something. I try to get along with everyone but sometimes some people really just suck. Other than that, I love the place.“

“Freddy’s is a great restaurant that serves the best frozen custard in town. Reasonably priced and easy access. They also have a dining club that offers different levels of free food up to $10.00 off. The staff is friendly and that means the managers got it right in their hiring processes.“

Had enough for leftovers the next day. Lots of other items to choose from on the menu. Their collards are great too. Every time I'm in the area, I go there.“

“I came to Baked today on a friend’s recommendation and I am already hooked. I eat a lot of grilled cheese sandwiches and theirs is the BEST! They chop up the bacon and it was cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly as well. This is not just a pizza place, they have breakfast, sandwiches, ice cream, a big wine bottle selection, full bar, gaming play area and cozy corner. It has it all!! I will be back to work from here and enjoy all they have to offer.“

Even if I don't call ahead of time the food is made quickly and tastes fine. $10 for a bacon cheeseburger with a decent amount of fries and a canned drink is honestly the best deal you'll get around here as a shipyard worker, at least in my opinion. They aren't rude, as some other reviews have said, they're just blunt. And I respect that. All in all 4/5 stars and I'll continue to eat here.“
