“I really enjoyed my trip to Second Street Bistro. It was lovely to spend time with my date here. They have great choices of appetizers, entrees and drinks. I had the loaded cornbread and lasagna. Both were delicious and very filling! I couldn't even finish half of the large servings. Plenty of parking. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. My date and I were not rushed to pay and vacate the table. We enjoyed leisurely meals and drinks and I look forward to returning soon.“

“Great service and great food. Been three times and each time I’ve gotten Caesar salad that i shared with my husband. Best Caesar salad we’ve ever had. And also got the Huntsman Chicken as known as chicken parmesean the best anywhere. My husband had their salmon dish he said it was the best he ever had. Highly recommend“

“What a wonderful evening we had! We sat at the bar and were offered cocktail suggestions and pairings. The food was absolutely wonderful. The bartenders were very friendly and accommodating. The chef/owner came to see us after dinner too! We will remember this as one of our the best nights out!“

“We always eat here any time that we are in Williamsburg. I almost always have the same thing because it is just so damn good; hot pastrami sub and an order of fries. The sub bun is perfect and the pastrami serving is very generous and very flavorful and very filling too. The fries serving fills the plate and cooked just right. On our way back home, we stop by again and take a sub with us to enjoy that evening. This Deli has our strongest recommendation.“

“Yes. They do give you a lot of steak, but the taste is so bland. At least throw some Montreal seasoning on it. Folks think it's good now if you do that it's really gonna do well. I give it a 6.2 out of 10“

“We had a wonderful dining experience from the welcoming greeters at the door to our wonderful server. The food was amazing from pea soup to steak to dessert, and the punch bowl! The Pringle’s ginger beer drink was very good, too. My daughter loved the oysters. It was a wholesome experience with live music and authenticity in the details (even the silverware is made in Williamsburg). It was also a treat to eat somewhere where historical figures dined in colonial times, but also really an art form to serve a menu inspired by recipes from the 1700s (and everything tasted amazing and fresh). The service was pretty impeccable for the whole staff (lots of servers, greeters, and staff).“

“excellent service and super attention from our server Liss, despite the lengthy wait for entrées coming out of the kitchen . good teamwork by the front of house staff. Food was very good. Only the other concern would be the excessive noise level has ! It was extremely loud, cannot carry on a normal conversation . Poor acoustic buffering in dining room.“

“We ate at the Eagles restaurant the day we arrived at Kingsmill. On our first day we enjoyed the delicious Ruben sandwich, the fries, the huge onion rings perfectly cooked, a very fresh side salad and a shrimp po’boy that was running over with shrimp. On another day we ordered the honey BBG wings. We will visit again the Eagles restaurant the next time we are in Kingsmill.“

“A fun place for family night out or date night! Awesome food & great service.“
“Derrick our waiter was exceptional! My daughter and I recently went to a luncheon program in the Regency Room. Other years there has been a buffet, but this time it was a set plate affair. Flank steak was on the menu! My daughter is vegetarian! I quietly inquired of Derrick if a vegetarian plate was possible? As he brought everyone at our table their meat meal, he set a vegetable meal in front of her! She was surprised and delighted! He saved the day!“
“A little hidden gem in the west gate resort. You do not have to stay at the resort to go. Good food and great selection of Sly Clyde and beers as well as canned mimosa ciders and wine. Pizza was great. Outdoor seating is nice as well. Check it out !!“
“What a great way to spend an afternoon! We got flights so we could taste a variety of their offerings. If you're over the muscadine wines prevalent in the Carolinas (Im from SC) and enjoy a bolder more complex flavor profile, you'll love it here.
The local musician was great too. The vibe was chill and everyone was having a great time.“
“Michael was our server and he was a delight. Very knowledgeable about the menu and provided great options. Most important he allowed us to enjoy our meal at our leisure without hovering. In a world where rushing meals has become the norm, Michael's thoughtfulness led to a wonderful experience.“

“Came here New Years Day 2023. What a delight our server Sunni was! She didn’t miss a beat! We thoroughly enjoyed the chowder and the biscuits and honey butter. Kyle the Bartender was such a talent!! Really knows his stuff and an equally personable and professional like Sunni. (I wish the property supplied them w proper Bing cherries to go w a Manhattan instead of Maraschino cherries which are best used for Shirley temples;)). Food: Very impressed w the food! Cudos to the chef! And such a nice presentation!! My swordfish was perfect!! As was all my husbands choices. Definitely one of our new favorite places. Way to go Kingsmille on the newly reopened restaurant!!“

“The grill is a spacious dining area with a small bar. During our visit, there was only one person staffing the dining room, and she really had to hustle to make it all work. We waited for some time for service, but she was as pleasant as could be considering how much she had to do. We did not have any food, only a couple of drinks.“

“We enjoyed our dinner and our server, Jared, was attentive. The choice of a 70's radio station was a bit odd and even though I like the music, it would have been a more pleasant dining experience if the volume was a little lower.“

“When I originally put this review on FB, I chose "does not recommend". I was reading the response from the pub and noticed that it has been changed to recommends. I do not recommend. This is my original post: We ate here today and the food was very subpar and the prices were fine dining prices. We paid $18 each for a wedge salad that consisted of a half a head of iceberg three sliced cherry tomatoes and a drizzle of ranch dressing. It had about a half a tablespoon of bacon on it and a quarter tablespoon of blue cheese crumbles. Was very basic and for $18 I would expect a little more thought put into the construction and presentation of the salad. I ordered the fish sandwich and the batter coating was not cooked at all. I had to scrape it off in order to eat the fish. when I pointed this out to my waiter, his response was well is the sandwich at least a little warm. My friends burger was overcooked and both of our buns were stale they were not toasted but they were stale. She ordered brussel sprouts on the side and they were really mushy and did not have a lot of flavor and our dessert was very sloppily presented. I paid $150 for two sandwiches two salads and two desserts and it was all very subpar. I will not be eating here again. I will take my $150 and go someplace decent like Food for Thought or Le Yaka.“

“Went for dinner and gave it a mixed review. Wife started with Ham and Biscuts. Reported biscuts were a bit dry and both biscuts and ham were salty. She then had Melon Gazpacho which was good. Her main course was Lobster Tail which she described as dry and very spicy. Finished with Peach Galette which she rated okay, but would have been better if served warm with ice cream.
I would rate my meal higher. Started with Shrimp Coctail, followed by Corn Bisque. Both were good. Corn bisque loaded with corn, crab, and other goodies. Grilled Caesar Salad next, okay, not much to the dressing, I’ve had better. My main was the TR Burger which was cooked properly, served with fries. Thought about the Ribeye special but kept it simple with the burger. Finished with a single scoop of chocolate ice cream which is all I needed.
Now some issues. Server was friendly, took order correctly, and ensured multiple courses were served independently and not rushed. However, my water glass was repeatedly empty and I had to make multiple requests for water. Finished dishes were cleared slowly which is a pet peeve.
Server initially asked if there were any food allergies. My wife told him Cilantro. Salad accompanying the Lobster Tail had Cilantro in the dressing. It was eventually corrected but resulted in her main course being served in two separate components. Should not happen.
Price was very high for overall quality. Including generous tip, total was $280. No alcohol. Only water to drink.
Bottom line, my meal was good, hers okay. Very pricey for each course and the overall quality.“

“Up until this morning, my family never had a negative experience at the Williamsburg First Watch. The food was always good. and the customer service top-notch. That changed today. It started with the waitress...she didn't offer any sort of greeting and, when my mother asked for a plate of bacon to share after I had ordered the "Trifecta" breakfast (with bacon, eggs over easy, and a multi grain pancake), the waitress asked me if I still wanted what I ordered and, when we sought suggestions, she stood silent. She gave us coffee when we asked, but poured hardly any in the cups and left us barely half a carafe. My eggs came over hard instead of over easy (as did my mother's, even though she asked for over easy too. The bottom of my pancake was burnt. (I took pictures of all of this in hopes that I could speak with the manager). I also ordered orange juice, which was never brought to the table. Our waitress then disappeared, so I had to flag down another waitress to get more coffee. creamers. and a few napkins. She at least was gracious enough to offer to do so. When I finally saw our waitress at the counter, I raised my hand to get her attention, and she gave me the "wait a minute" gesture. It took her five minutes to get to us. When she did come over, I asked her for what we needed, and she didn't seem overly thrilled about getting what we asked for. When she dropped the check, I told her she never brought my juice, and wanted her to remove that from the bill, which she did (with a half-hearted apology for that at least, after asking me if I still wanted it, which would have been pointless after the meal). Forty dollars for a meal experience worth less than half that. All-in-all, compared to past experiences, I can totally see why so many negative reviews have been posted lately.“

“I would say the Blue Talon is a 4.5 star restaurant but I’m rounding up since Google doesn’t allow half stars. The food is very good for a small town location. We tried a few classic French dishes including beef bourguignon and duck cassoulet. The dishes were extremely flavorful and everything was fresh. The sauces were exceptional. The bread was also excellent and worth the extra charge. Everything was prepared with careful thought and skill. My only complaint is the meat wasn’t as tender as it could have been because it was browned too long. We ordered the mousse at the end and it was fun to see the chef dishing it out like he was sharing it with his own family. The restaurant itself has a very beautiful atmosphere and the service is what you would expect for an upscale establishment. It feels like there is a lot of history at this restaurant and they continue to live up to it today. If you are in Williamsburg it is well worth visiting the Blue Talon.“

“We ate here today. The food was excellent. We had the shrimp boat as an appetizer. Enough for two. My husband had the combo, potroast & meatloaf with mashed potatoes & gravy, along with creamed spinach. I had the crab-a-bella with jasmine rice. Our server was Brandon C. This was our 2nd visit during our vacation. We encourage all to visit this resturant.“
