“Ask for Kristy if you go!! The hostess that seated us could use some training as she had an attitude with us when we politely asked to switch tables, she threw the menus on the table and walked away. Kristy came and saved the experience for us though! We come at least once a year and she’s by far the best server we’ve had. We both got steaks this time and they were cooked very well, but the Brussels sprouts live in my mind they are so good!“
“The food is delicious, hands down. But there's always a wait, so go early. Love the atmosphere, and the staff are really friendly. Only 4 stars bc I've gone for the $1 oysters several times, and the wait is always so long that I miss the window of opportunity.Update: something must have changed because I have gotten several times this year and have had no waiting. Worth noting, reservations are required to sit inside. However, the manager, Tyler, is outstanding! And the service and food continue to impress.“
“Big Mike was our delightful server. Not only was he prompt and knowledgeable about the menu, he was extremely attentive and full of personality. He recommended I try the broiled oysters and I was not disappointed. The food was delicious, cooked to our liking and delivered in good time. We're from out of town and would definitely recommend to friends who are visiting.“
“I am a true foodie, have traveled to over 30 countries always seeking the very best restaurants I could find, and Fat Canary is one of the best....hands down ! .....the food is amazing, the soups are truly chef masterpieces. The service is always amazing. Do not believe any negative comments, I know this is an amazing restaurant based on my experiences.“
“I lived in PA for 40+ years and have eaten at almost every decent Philly Cheese Steak shop between Philly and Harrisburg. Tip: The best Philly cheese steak is in Harrisburg and Hampden Township.Rick's makes a pretty good cheese steak. The rolls aren't quite as good as Philly Amoroso rolls. But they are dense and support the cheese steak well. Nice crust and chewy texture. High quality meat and lots of it! Most beef I've ever had on a quality cheese steak. I prefer provolone, onions, sauce and light hot peppers. Rick's mixes the cheese into everything on the grill, including the sauce. I prefer the sauce poured over the steak in the hoagie roll. Sauce maintains it's flavor that way. But all in all, an excellent cheese steak.French fries were slightly under done. Need to be crispier with more color. Fries are large crinkle cut.Server was friendly and efficient. Knew his product well. The restaurant was clean and bright. Apparently it has been recently remodeled. Steady stream of business on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of parking. We'll be back!“
“Absolutely a must do if you are in Colonial Williamsburg. Authentic experience complete with music, colonial dress and even a few other suprises that only enhance the overall vibe. I wasn't sure what to expect from the menu as the offerings weren't as numerous as one might expect. We had the Chicken, and To Fry Fish and both were 6 Stars on a 5 Star scale. Cannot wait to go back!!“
“We've been here for breakfast several times and have never been disappointed. The fruit is always fresh & plentiful. We decided to try lunch and it was even better than breakfast. The club sandwich is a must try!! We take advantage of the punch card and get every 5th meal free. Definately one of our favorite places to eat!“
“Cool vibe restaurant with a very interesting craft cocktails/mocktails list, craft beers, and delicious sharing plates and entrees. Farm to table brings you the freshest ingredients. We enjoyed it so much we went again the same trip. Bradley is an excellent server.“
“If you are visiting Colonial Williamsburg, this is a one-of-a-kind must try restaurant! The food was so good, we ate here a second time. The Welsh rarebit was delicious enough to get twice! I wasnt fond of the onion pie. We got the snow eggs and peanut butter pie for dessert and both were tasty, but if your looking to try something new, go for the snow eggs! Will definitely eat here again next time I'm in town!“
“I'm late on this review. We went around Christmas time. On the way to Busch Gardens for the Christmas lights. Which I will also review. I have to say that this was the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten in my life. My bf happens to know the owner and has worked on his hvac and refrigeration years ago when they were smaller. There were 4 of us in our group. We shared a large pepperoni pizza. Despite the line out the door that night we got our pizza and we were eating within 30 minutes. Want to warn you if you see a table open have a member of the party grab it lol unless you plan to eat outside on the curb or car. Lol. The bathrooms were surprising clean and well stocked despite the amount of traffic coming thru. I have told everyone I know going in that direction that you absolutely will not be disappointed.“
“Been coming to this place since it opened. Definitely a nice addition to Williamsburg. Does get major busy during the weekends and tourist season. But either way the staff is always nice and food comes out at a reasonable time in most case no complaints.“
“Food was good, not outstanding though, ran out of risotto which was disappointing. Back room of restaurant is v plain n lacking. Desserts were just ok, we had a bday celebration that was made known but this was not acknowledged. Overall it was fine but not rushing back.“
“Have heard very good things about Duck Doughnuts, even about the original in Duck, NC. Stopped in to give them a try. At first, I was a little overwhelmed by the number of different Doughnuts they had. I asked what they had made, and the young lady said, them all,"We make to order. " That was a bit surprising. If you hit a Dunkin or Krispy Cream, you only pick what they have. Ended up getting a cinnamon jelly. When I got it, it was still fairly warm, which always makes a doughnut taste better. The only complaint I would have is the jelly in naturally filled into the hole. When picking it up, a lot of the Jelly stayed on the paper, which made it a little messy. Other than that, it was delicious. It's just a plain strip mall location, nothing fancy inside. Lots of merchandise you can get, if you love them. You can also grab a drink. Definitely would eat their Doughnuts anytime!“
“It took them about 7 minutes to ask us what we wanted to drink. My pancakes, eggs, and sausage were delicious. You can choose between sausage patties and regular sausage. My husband had the regular sausage and I had the patties. Both didn't disappoint. I'd come here over IHOP any day. Also, they sang "Happy birthday" with a choir vibe. . . It wasn't a boring happy birthday song that restaurants usually sing. Highly recommend this place. Our only complaint with the fruit bowl is that the blueberries in it weren't fresh.“
“Finding myself as the typical tourist in Williamsburg, hunger struck at the most inconvenient of times - when seemingly every restaurant in town was closed. In my quest for sustenance, I stumbled upon the Gold Course Clubhouse Grill, a beacon of hope amidst my culinary dilemma. As I walked in, I was greeted by the serene sight of a few patrons enjoying their meals with a picturesque view of the golf course. The place was quiet, almost a hidden gem away from the usual tourist buzz. With limited options at hand, I crossed my fingers for decent food and prices. Fortune smiled upon me - not only were the prices reasonable, but the BBQ was a revelation. Each bite was a delightful surprise, far exceeding my expectations of a golf course grill. The service? Impeccable. Attentive and friendly, the staff made sure my impromptu dining experience was nothing short of excellent. The ambiance of the grill was exactly what you'd expect from a clubhouse - comfortable, with a touch of elegance. It turned out to be the perfect retreat from the typical tourist traps, offering a satisfying and peaceful dining experience. For anyone wandering around Williamsburg looking for a good meal, the Gold Course Clubhouse Grill is a hidden treasure worth discovering.“
“We were here for the English Tea. Reservation was for one hour which was sufficient time. We enjoyed most of the items. Atmosphere was great and included harp music during the tea. Parking is paid but online and easy. They handed our onion/garlic allergies very well by changing out the regular sandwiches with ham and cheese. Kind of plain sandwich but added some of the raspberry jam to it and took it to another level. In addition to the tea they provide a glass of champagne. This is really a one time thing but it was a special family occasion in Williamsburg.“
“Well established southern breakfast place; we went for a dinner. We were hoping for breakfast for dinner but that was not an option. Dinner menu was filled with southern staples. Hush puppies, fried chicken, catfish, steak smothered with onions and mushrooms. Old bay fries, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw were delicious. Dessert sounded delicious but we were full. The hostess and server were great. We will be back for breakfast.Dietary restrictions: Keto options were limited. Excellent chopped salad with lots of cheese and protein.“
“Food and service were both top notch. JJ was our server and he made us feel like we were his only customers. He was friendly, quick, thoughtful, and knowledgeable of the menu. He was able to make great recommendations when we were unsure of what to order. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the special barbacoa bowl, lemon ricotta pancakes, breakfast tacos, Belgian waffle, specialty drinks, and eggs and bacon. Everything was made to perfection. Before we left we were already making plans to go back again!“
“The food was absolutely delicious. This was the most tender, juicy briquette I've ever had. The fried cat fish was AMAZING. The mashed potatoes and cornbread was delicious. Even the coleslaw was really good. Our server Jen took great care of us. ?“
“Everything is delicious! This is our favorite Williamsburg restaurant. Excellent food in a casual setting. Their hot chocolate is thick and sweet, like melted chocolate with a house made marshmallow. The Gateau Breton is my favorite dessert anywhere. Great service. Don't miss it!“
“Delicious spot for lunch. The sandwiches are all made to order, so you might a have a little wait when it’s busy. But it’s worth the wait. We found a table downstairs in the cellar, where you can have a glass of beer or wine. I’m glad we stopped in.“
“I've only ever had breakfast here, but I've never been disappointed. The menu is large, and so are the portions. A party of 2 with average appetites could easily split the breakfast platter and be quite satisfied. If you happen to have a gluten allergy, they do a good job with substitutions and preventing cross contamination. I actually look forward to the gluten free waffles.“
“Excellent food & service last night at The Jefferson Restaurant. Many choices on the menu. Had the blackened catfish & loaded baked potato with green beans, my husband had the southern combination of ham and fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy & greens beans too. Both were equally delicious! We were ready to get our ticket, when the waitress brought a selection tray of yummy looking desserts. Since she went to all the trouble of bringing the heavy tray, we had to choose one, so we decided on the banana/chocolate piece of cake to share. Oh my!! It was heaven. Oh and let me tell you the atmosphere was like stepping back in time. Colonial decor & even the servers were dressed colonial style. If you're hungry and want great food and service, you must stop at The Jefferson Restaurant.“
“The fish and chips are amazing the Ceaser salad was one of the best I’ve had burgers are cooked really well and the fish and chips was my favorite if you like cheesecake you gota try the Carmel one!!fair prices and amazing food the staff is also super nice and quick!! I would recommend anyone to comeParking: Pleantly of parkingKid-friendliness: Kids meals have big portions youl need a box!“
“Drinks and appetizers at the adjacent Restoration Bar. Delightful service from Marie and the bartender. Sorry didn't get her name. The charcuterie plate was delicious and I enjoyed one of their signature cocktails, Linus' Boxcar. We then were seated at a lovely table in the dining room where we enjoyed a superb steak with savory mashed potatoes and wonderful roasted root vegetables. ! We had asked to share and was delivered beautifully split and plated. Our server, Linda, was delightful attentive and welcoming. We always love the ambiance, service, food and beverages at the Williamsburg Inn.“
“I came to Way Point for Easter Brunch by myself since I am away from home for the military. The staff were very courteous and welcoming. I decided to sit at the bar since I was solo. Brandon was the bartender and he is AMAZING! Only later did I find out he was also a manager. He was very kind with great recommendations and allowed me to vent about being away from my family on Easter. Met the owner along with managers and other staff. It was a great time. It did get a bit warm inside but the second I mentioned being warm, one of the managers rushed to get the air on. This was apparently to the staffs delight as they were all grateful for some AC! Had a wonderful experience and many thanks to Brandon, Tina, and Chris for a phenomenal time! The buffet staff clearly put in a lot of work for todays event and I appreciate the amazing food they prepared! I will make it a point to stop by here whenever my travels bring me back to this area which I hope will be sooner than later!“
“We almost didn’t go in once we saw Jolene’s was inside a motel but decided to try out because it had great reviews. Oh, my goodness, we had the best burger we’ve ever had at a restaurant! Burger was amazing! Very fresh and had the best flavor! We will make the 30-minute drive again just for the burgers! Staff was great, friendly, attentive! Even the cook came out to ask if the burgers were okay! Better than okay!!“
“This place was so good!! ?We're vegans that eat ethically sourced eggs, so this place was a great find. We ordered the tofu bowl, I don't think it's even on the menu but if you ask it's likely available ? it had marinated tofu, rice, veggies and it was delicious and filling. The staff is super friendly. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!“
“Booked a reservation for my wife and I for our 5th anniversary. They didn't have our table ready for 30 minutes after our reservation time, which was frustratingly annoying. Once we finally did get seated, the meal was good, and the service matched.“
“This adorable bakery in Merchants Square in Williamsburg, Virginia is a MUST stop.A traditional bakery with all the usual treats but with a sophisticated touch.Step inside, and you'll feel like you're in a cozy Parisienne bakery. The Hot Milk Cake is a simple delight and the Croissant & danishes are delightful.“
“I've been here twice within the past year and it has become a must whenever I spend a night in Williamsburg. The breakfast is has been on point both visits. The pancakes are fluffy, meats are tender and cooked just right. I can write out an entire list, but just know if you're looking for breakfast, head here. Service is also great as well. They take care of you and are quick to rectify any issues.“
“What a fun night we had on our first time trying this. It certainly is worth trying. The experience was awesome from the person who checked us in to the person who instructed us and the people taking food order and serving the food. Everyone is there to make yohr experience pleasant.“
“We've yet to have a less than stellar experience here. The food is superb! You may balk at the prices, but I promise, it's worth it! From the apps and drinks to the entrees, you can't go wrong, and the specials are an added bonus!“
“We came on a Sunday morning and while it was very busy, we were easily able to find a table for 5. On to the best part- the food. I love the apple stuffed French toast!! Don’t miss that. Great selection of coffees and hot drinks. Highly recommended for a families.“
“Great pub and sports bar. Menu is extensive and filled with favorites. Very large beer & wine selections. Owner is on site. Very clean & welcoming. Party of 2, ordered 2 Holly sandwiches with a beer & iced tea. Easy ordering and payment. Staff very friendly. Beverages received upon ordering. Sandwiches were delivered to table hot and delicious with a pickle spear. Excellent lunch!“
“This place is a must go to. The food is amazing and the beer is great. What sets this place apart is the super pleasant staff. Everyone here has a huge smile on and is super happy to serve. The food was great. Pizza is thin crust and made with fresh ingredients.“
“I couldn't get enough of this place! I came here two nights in a row, the shrimp scampi was that good. The lobster tails are so well prepared, and the side veggies are fresh. The wait staff and hostess are super nice and recognized me and said hello. It is clear they make visitors welcome and I really appreciated their food and hospitality.“
“I've been twice in the last 6-8 months and every time I've been the sandwiches have been excellent, service is very good if not too busy (which they seem to be with many regulars), and they are willing to accommodate special requests (i.e., types of bread, hot/cold option for sandwich, condiments). Since I'm a beer drinker at lunch, I tend to like more options than they but this is not a brewery so....“
“There is no better place to stay when visiting Williamsburg! The remarkable staff here make you feel pampered and most welcome. Whenever there are issues that normally arise with an older hotel like this one, they are addressed expertly. The amenities are wonderful and the rooms are extremely clean.“
“My wife and I had a great dinning experience last Friday) night at The Hounds Tail. Our server Destiny was fun and very helpful. Her dinner suggestions were spot on. I had the Stuffed Flounder and my wife had the Tikka Masala. Both excellent dishes. We also had the Mussels for a startes. I also loved the Creme Brulee which Destiny suggested.“
“Chowning's Tavern This family-friendly tavern offers lunch and dinner; of course Colonial Williamsburg is family friendly and we recommend Chowning's Tavern for families. We have taken care to frequent Colonial Williamsburg for decades; Probably the Christmas season is our favorite, and the long hot humid summer is the season we avoid. Any frequent visitor to Greater Williamsburg is in for a culinary treat; we focused our first few years on Colonial Williamsburg dining, and we still recommend the historical taverns. Dining in the 18th Century setting is provided at the following: * Christiana Campbell's Tavern® * Chowning's Tavern® * King's Arms Tavern® * Shields Tavern® Over the years Chowning's Tavern has evolved to "please families" with a fast food backyard grill. Limited menu and service hear. Caveat: avoid the backyard if desiring an authentic Colonial Dining experience. Please read reviews prior to visiting Colonial Williamsburg. We recommend above stairs dining; servers have had some training. Great tavern ambience. Chowning's Tavern may offer the best economy dining experience. In the 1960's we "discovered" Brunswick Stew, and this is still on the menu; moreover, my wife has added this stew to her offerings in her kitchen. Take care in personal review of colonial dining. Chowning's Tavern may or may not be a best bet for romantic dining. The tariff is appropriate for the fare.“
“I know what you’re thinking…. The pineapple logo… you’re nervous to go given the stigma… well I’ll tell you what! The only swinging going on here is me making birdies on the par 3s! Great service and friendly staff, topped off with a phenomenal layout and manicured turf, you simply can’t ask for a better time!“
“Staying at Kings Mill for a “baby moon”. Hubby and I ordered nachos to split and shared a larger salad. Prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. The staff was awesome! They had live karaoke going on, but it wasn’t too loud for the dining area. It was fun to hear them all! Definitely recommend if you’re a guest here.“
“Absolutely delicious food!! Large portions that left no room for dessert. Will be back soon!!Update:I've gotten hooked on the shrimp and grits. I literally make the half hour drive just to satisfy this craving. It is THAT good y'all! Even on their busiest day, the service is impeccable. Someone is always checking on you and the owner even stops by the tables to have a quick chat with diners. It's amazing! The only complaint I have is that I wish it was closer to home, but if it was, I'd probably go broke dining there every day. Also, the bartender made the most delicious virgin ginger mojito I've ever tasted and the piece of sugar cane reminds me of home! Very nice!Lovely place, fast service, great atmosphere! Will be back!!Update 2024Food for thought should be the service model that all restaurants go by! Impeccable in every way! And to get your meal within 8-12 minutes of ordering is unheard of! Totally worth the drive!Mr. Howard is such a nice man too. I truly love this place!“
