This is such a fun place to eat. It’s my husband‘s favorite spot for ramen. I don’t really eat ramen but their fried rice is great. The atmosphere really makes this place. It feels so “Richmond.” It has the vibe and energy of a university restaurant with a diverse clientele. It’s tiny but every time we’ve been, we’ve managed to get a seat right away. The staff is always kind and attentive, and the food comes out quick.
Everytime i go, i order the same thing. Beef curry ramen (with no bamboo shoots and no mushrooms) ((maybe extra corn if i can afford it)) with 1-2 edemame plates.The dish itself was amazing, it’s the only time ive ever had a dish like this, im usually craving the savory-ness of it since ive never really liked regular curry. it’s not spicy and it tastes really good. The only issue is when it gets to our table, it’s so hot i have to wait to eat it! Makes me drool just sitting...
Start off that I am no expert, but I have eaten ramen all around US and several parts throughout Asia (especially Japan). The broth had decent flavor though very light for a true pork based stock. Noodles were soggy and didn't hold well with the chopsticks. The partially boiled marinated egg was fully boiled and lack really any flavor which is a staple of ramen flavor profile.
