“If the weather is nice there is no better place to hang out and have a beer than their outdoor seating area. It's extremely nice, and the beer here is probably the best you're going to find in Roanoke. The staff is great, and their growlers are reasonably priced. They don't stay open very late, so be sure to get there early.“

“Barrel Chest is always worth a stop if you are in need of a good variety of beers and wines. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and the self service taps always have good offerings. If you are lucky, you will catch a beer on tap brewed in house by Martin, which he is a genius brewer. I will continue to forever frequent Barrel Chest as long as I live in Roanoke. I have been coming here since they opened, I don't plan on stopping!“
