“What a lovely experience. Stopped in and had two fantastic cocktails. Dark rum and gin. Who ever is designing their menu has a varried pallet and knows flavor. Our bartender was kind and very engaging. I highly recommend stopping by while visiting Roanoke.“

“Would have preferred to rate it 10 stars. We stopped in Roanoke on our way south and stumbled on Fortunato. We had a pizza and pasta dish, both were absolutely incredible. This meal was better than all of the meals we had in Italy. The service was top notch. 10/10 all around, I wish we didn’t live 1000 miles away! Thanks for an amazing meal.“

“Dinner last night at Lucky was fantastic! The shrimp and grits was to die for. My husband had the West African peanut stew and thought that it was delicious. Even the Caesar salad was great... Emily our wait person was attentive, receptive and delightful...“

“4 Star: Food: using less chicken with more rice as a filler for the ACP. Menu Cost: If you ask for a side of cheese dip, you will pay/receive the pricy appetizer only. Raised prices not shown on internet menu. $2 added to my bill!“

“We searched for a place like this for a full year after visiting a place in Topsail that we couldn't forget. No restaurants in the Roanoke area could compete or give us what we were looking for. Imagine our surprise to find Brood, only 25 minutes away from where we live. The ambiance is so soothing(unless there's a rowdy table, but it happens to everyone), the servers are friendly and kind. And the food- *chefs kiss* - is divine. Nearly everything on the menu is naturally gluten free, focusing more on potatoes than bread, and while we don't have a gluten intolerance ourselves, we find that decision unique and refreshing. You can go to any restaurant along main street and find white bread. We particularly love the Steak and frites, and the braised short ribs, but I've tried the crabcakes, shrimp&grits, and the chicken schnitzel. I recommend everything I've tried. We haven't had one bad experience, and this is our 2nd year of enjoying regular visits.
Brunch is fabulous as well- I always get the steak and egg, with a side of the grits(amazing).
Our only gripe, and it's a small one, is that there is a fragrance plug in somewhere and I'm sensitive to fragrance and it can be a little annoying. Hasn't stopped us from going though 😆“
