“The service here was amazing and the girls at the counter were very attentive. However, as someone who is picky about coffee I was not a fan of the drink I received. I ordered a mocha and I couldn’t taste as chocolate at all (I know they put it in there as I saw it). The coffee was so overpowering that it drowned out the flavor. If you like your coffee to have the campfire, bitter, burnt flavor you would love the coffee here. I prefer smoother coffee, less acidic and less campfire taste as it meshes better with lattes/mochas.It is not the fault of how the coffee is made but the beans they use. I’d say if the flavor of the coffee isn’t a huge deal for you, you’d like it! I personally felt like the coffee itself washed out all other flavors and wasn’t to my taste.“
“We got seafood boil bags to-go, so we didn’t get to dine in. But we plan to for sure. This place is way better than Red Crab in Fredericksburg, by far. The prices are better and the quality of seafood is better. Often I’m disappointed at these kind of restaurants because it always feels overpriced and not worth it, but here I was satisfied. The mussels, crab clusters, crawfish, and shrimp were really good and good in size to where you don’t feel like you’re getting ripped off.“
“The food is always good, but over the years they have had ups and downs getting to go orders right. Very convenient pick up & go process; but there was a stretch of consistently wrong orders that you don’t find out about until you get home. We’ve finally decided to try again and had a good experience with the good food we expect.“
“In case you, like me, heard about the bread pudding, yes, it's incredible. Come here and try it. You won't regret it.Anyway, for the real review, I came here for dinner with my friends. It was an incredible meal. I got the beef wellington and, of course, bread pudding for dessert. The beef wellington was a perfect medium rare, as it should be, and was the first time I've eaten a filet mignon in my life and didn't hate it. That's a huge plus! The asparagus that came with it was incredible, too. I know this shouldn't have to be a compliment, but you could taste how fresh both the asparagus and time since it touched the pan (or grill? idk) was.Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes left a lot to be desired. I had my friend taste some, too, just in case, and she confirmed my suspicions: almost tasteless. I had no idea something that interacted with chives could have so little flavor. Thankfully there's table salt available, but I was very disappointed. Mashed potatoes is usually the perfect complement to steak—the Robin to Batman, but in this case I got a filler episode where Robin was on vacation because the actor was busy. One of my friends got the stuffed gouda burger (or something like that), and he enjoyed it, save for a slight lacking of sauce; he said the burger overall was a bit dry, but he made sure to specify that the burger patty was definitely juicy and delicious. His wife ordered the fish & chips (which was my second choice, as it's listed as their signature dish), and she let me try a piece. The fish was incredible, and the tartar sauce, a sauce I normally do not like at all, was perfect for it.In case everybody else hasn't gushed enough about the bread pudding, OMG IT WAS SO GOOD. My only complaint would be that I failed to portion the scoop of ice cream correctly and ran out. That's entirely on me.I gave three stars for atmosphere, and that's mostly preference. I don't like loud areas with a lot of people. Unfortunately, places that serve good food tend to be popular and attract lots of people, especially on a Friday night. This is also entirely on me.What's not on me, though, was the horrible smell of smoke that came up randomly during our dinner. My friends and I suspect somebody got a drink that's served on fire, but we couldn't tell. I saw a little bit of smoke in the air, and it smelled like a bonfire for ten minutes. I did not enjoy that. I don't know if they can accommodate this, but I'll have to remember to ask if there's seating away from the bar area.I 100% intend on returning here some time in the future, and I will update this review with my full thoughts on the fish & chips when I try them at that time.Parking: There is parking available right outside the restaurant, but good luck getting it. Just park a few hundred feet away in the huge mall parking (Macy's, Paragon, etc.) lot and enjoy the outside air for a few extra minutes on your way in.“
“Excellent service and wonder tasting foods. Service was made with a smile and very helpful for our first time here. We will be back. The Burrito Fajita was mouth watering. We will be back again! Thanks for the early dinner on this Saturday afternoon.“
“I don't understand why they don't take reservations and why people wait 30-60 minutes for this place. If you want to wait less, you can call them same day at least an hour before the time you want to come in. But the food is delicious. We loved the truffle fries! We came here on a Saturday at 430pm. So we only waited 10 minutes. But after we got seated, there was a long line waiting after us. So my advice would be to come any time before 430pm. On another positive side, our waitress was very attentive and nice. I still recommend this place! But I just don't think it's worth one hour wait.“
“What an amazing experience it was to discover this place. We had a fabulous brunch, and I must say I am not usually a brunch fan. My tofu scramble burrito was genius and my wife's smoked salmon was delicious and accompanied by the expected (capers) and unexpected (Pico d gallo). Cute, cozy, and unassuming interior and attentive, if busy, staff. We will be back!“
“Have been wanting to try here for quite some time and finally got the chance during restaurant week!Went with two friends and we all enjoyed. Margarita flights were great! Nice flavor options to try. We each got something different for food and all enjoyed. The guacamole appetizer was great and huge. The flan dessert was super tasty!! Service was wonderful, attentive and nice. Inside was clean, well lit and nicely put together. Can't wait to go back.“
“Was hoping to get food when I got here at 945 seeing they close at midnight…they closed their kitchen at 915 and based on bartender just depends on how night is going if they keep kitchen open. Looks like great spot but was disappointed by unpredictability of kitchen hours seeing as they have the bar open til midnight. Bar staff were great but I got a food menu with a QR code for on taps which just rubbed it in lol ? hoping to give them another shot!“
“Went to a local dive bar.I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go to McDonald’s and go home… I do Uber and this place is in the middle of where the Uber trips come from in Fredericksburg.I had dropped somebody off near the area and saw all the cute places, so I circled it about 10 times praying to god on whether I needed a burger or I needed $10 and no burger…I got the best burger I’ve had in years.Absolute banger burger.Swiss cheese, sautéed portobello, grilled red onion, several hefty slices of crispy bacon, beef was excellent quality, exactly as much carbon from the grill as I would want on a grilled burger, on evenly toasted brioche. They made it extra special for me and did fried pickles as the side instead of fries. The flavors, and everything was hot and perfectly crispy. I will be returning there very soon.Whenever an Uber passenger from the VRE asks me “what’s good around here” I will have the answer.“
“Was busy, service and food on point. Working my way through the menu, had the bangers and mash this time very good.Music, MarJo Deluxe was great, second time listening to them will come back for more.Over all great food, good atmosphere will return!“
“Had a wonderful Easter brunch on the Veranda with my family. We had a reservation right when that section of the restaurant opened, service was very attentive and food came out so quick! They were so accommodating with our toddler and the views were wonderful. We saw multiple trains going by and our daughter loved seeing the geese on the river. Great kids menu, I had the crab cakes and husband had the eggs Benedict. All were piping hot and delicious. We will definitely be back!Kid-friendliness: During reservation they asked about needing a high chair. They had crayons and a coloring page right at the table when we got to it. Cute kids cups and very quick service!“
“Dive bar in a strip mall with pool tables and gambling machines and good happy hour specials. We had drinks, 3 appetizers and played some pool. We were there bt 6ish & 8.. Service was good . It has the atmosphere of a locals bar but also welcoming ,, maybe cop/military/western themed with pool and gambling? The Theme is not solidified! There are several lists of rules on the door, suggesting they probably need several lists of rules on the door! ? it was fine.“
“Love this place. Always cheap and good. Where else in the area can you leave for $50 with dinner and drinks for two? Two times we have had the sweetest server too. I tried to catch her name the last time we were in. Sounded like "sigh-el" (sorry for butchering the name). Younger girl with glasses. Thank you Pancho Villa and to our great server!“
“My friend and I came here this afternoon (10/11/23) and decided to order the pizza. She loved her cheese pizza while my pepperoni was absolutely the best. The slices are EXTREMELY HUGE with TONS of pepperoni. It made my mouth water. I was like "OMG, best pizza ever". I ordered two slices but I would've been full with just one slice. The rooftop is really cool overlooking Fredericksburg. Our server was very helpful and professional. I would give this restaurant a 10 if I could. Tomorrow will be 2 hours in the gym instead of 1.“
“I moved back to Stafford at the end of last year, so I'm still becoming familiar with the new food options in the area. I was excited to try Olla Cafe and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Carne Asada and was very happy with the taste! Everything was perfectly seasoned and it was a nice sized portion. Although I can't remember our waitress's name, she was friendly. The other staff members were nice as well. I will definitely return!“
