“Fried Clams always a hit, Shrimp Scampi was absolutely out of this world 6 GIANT butterfly shrimp and the pasta was perfect, I had chicken Alfredo the chicken was perfecty grilled and plenty of it and again the pasta was perfect. Sara our server was on point. I can overlook certain things cleanliness is not one but here even the men's room smelled fresh and it appeared spotless. I highly recommend this place it's a bit pricey or I would be here weekly but the portion size makes up as I have leftovers everytime. Over the past few years I've been here 30 plus times. I've never had a bad experience. my advice to the nay sayers is don't slap a place for one bad experience talk to the manager so they know what needs correcting working in this industry most of my life, mistakes can happen but they can be made right as well. I'll be back soon guys.”

“Absolutely amazing omakase experience! The ambiance was unusal in the best sense -- it's an old building with original floors and ceilings, very cozy, great music (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, INXS, CSNY, etc.), the staff were all SO fun and friendly, and the sushi was the BEST we've ever had.

I've never leave restaurant reviews but sushi aka merits breaking my precedent.

I took my husband for his birthday last weekend and it was a top 10 date experience for us! A table by the window and closer to the sushi bar (best seat in the house IMO) became available and we were invited to move there. At one point our first dance wedding song came on and when the chef overheard, he restarted the song for us and the staff decided to make room for us to dance (and even took a video for us).

We were asked some questions beforehand to get an idea of what we liked and didn't like, what our favorite sushi was, how adventurous we were, etc. The omakase was very reasonably priced (our budget is tight right now, but this was worth saving up for), and included three sushi dishes, a sashimi platter, a three-part sashimi tasting menu (can't empathize the difference expert rice prepararion and seasoning makes!), all prepared by Chef Michael, and an amazing desserts course prepeared by Chef Adam. All eight courses were delicious and delightful surprises.

**Making a reservation is advised and omakase is by reservation only, so call in advance.

The drinks menu was extensive. My husband ordered the Japanese whiskey flight and loved it. The rest of the menu looked really interesting and we look forward to trying some of the staple dishes next time.

Chef Michael's technical skills, knowledge, and presentation were all incredible. Some of the fish I hadn't experienced before, which says a lot, and all of it was unbelievably fresh and perfectly prepared. They had actual, real, fresh wasabi root available, which I've never seen anywhere else in the region. It's also the only authentic omakase I've seen in Virginia outside the DC area. We eat a LOT of sushi and this is hands down the best within a 3hr radius (and likely beyond).

We hardly ever go to Suffolk, but sushi aka was definitely worth the drive and we'll be returning as soon as we can. I can't recommend it enough. The staff were attentive and just made us feel special.

We went this past Saturday evening for dinner to celebrate both of our birthdays (both Oct. 19th). Everyone was kind and friendly but when we mentioned it was our celebration no one seemed to care, probably because it was just two of us alone at a huge table. The other guests were sang to, had tricks performed for them, and it was just a regular Saturday evening for them. It was pretty disappointing. Wasn’t looking for special treatment but, we’ve had far better times there. Anyway, food was amazing as always. Will return.”

“This was my first stop for food at 8:30a.m. and first time ever eating in Suffolk V.A. while traveling back home. I gotta say I was surprised at the awesome customer service I received. The guy taking my order was very friendly. He took the time to ask what I wanted and made sure to read it back after each item was ordered. When the food was ready he wouldn't let me take it out until I looked at every plate and made sure it looked presentable and perfect. I gotta say it looked like it was from a commercial no lie. I was impressed by the taste and the presentation was on point. The burger with provolone and pepper jack and American cheese with whatever condiments you like and the cheddar cheese fries, if you don't try anything else try this and you won't be disappointed. I got 3 of these meals and parked at Lowe's. No one in the car said a word cause our mouths were full lol. I will definitely be back and I will be recommending family and friends who live in the area. 10/10. Also the pic does not do it justice the plate was full of cheese frys and the burger is decently sized, I just couldn't stop smashing it to take a pic initially lol.”

“One of the best meals we've ever had on Granby Street. My husband ordered the Coconut Curry Shimp bowl, which he said was outstanding. I ordered the grilled chicken wrap, which was actually on a grilled wrap, stuffed with tender grilled chicken breast, crispy bacon and a Chipotle mayo with just enough spice! Waffle fries were fresh, hot and crispy. Even the iced tea was better than average. Service was fast and friendly. The dessert menu looked delicious, but we were too full! We highly recommend this restaurant. We'll be back!”

“I am SO happy I stumbled upon this place! The women working were so welcoming and kind. Inside the building are many private spaces that would be perfect to work or read. They offer books and coloring options for kids! We chose to sit on the benches outside and they brought our food and coffee out to us. They have a ramp, so I was able to get my stroller in easily. The cheesecake bites… I’m still thinking about them. SO good! Oh and before you get nervous about trying to find parking on Main Street, they have two whole parking areas! “I just left and I had a great meal, The Brochette is the best I have ever had. the Balsamic reduction the lightly toasted bread makes it so very tasty, and a great app for sharing. I then had a very nice salad very cold and crisp and very fresh the Italian dressing was home made light and tasty. My entree is one of my favorites Fresh Garlic and Olive Oil with sun dried tomato's and Angel hair. Perfectly balanced, very thinly sliced garlic warmed perfectly but not over powering. The Service was great, It was only 4:30 but about half full. The Ambiance was what you would expect for a very small town. Very Clean and neat. The owner Al is there every day all day and does 90% of all the cooking The Pizzas are great he makes his dough fresh daily and discards at the end of the day.”

We tried 5 types of wings and the lamb gyro. Real meat in the gyro not the thin processed kind...wow...and all the wings were yummy. The parmesan options were our favorites. DELICIOUS! Wait time about 15 minutes which is totally reasonable for fresh food. It's more of a take out place - no frills, no fuss - but you can easily eat in which we did. We will definitely be back again for more yummy food and to try some of their other options.”
